My guess your message either didn't float the winkers boat or it was lost in many other messages.
Myself I don't send winks, I think if a profile interests me enough I'll invest the few minutes to message them

We agree with this."

I totally agree as well, I always send a cheeky wank, oops wink if I'm interested not all profiles actually give you something to work with for a first message . And I do like a wa.. sorry wink in return. |

That could be although it seem the messages are not even read. And its happened about 8 times in the last two weeks.
"
I can't even wink lol |

We often return a wink thinking it's an expression of interest only to be met by silence. I think some people see it as no more than a friendly nod as you pass in the street, not meant to be responded to with any more than a brief nod back. |

This would be my view of a wink. I wouldn’t just wink because I liked a profile or something unless I also wanted to try and open a conversation.
But equally appreciate it can be seen as low effort. |

As a guy on this site I absolutely understand that women get inundated with messages, not only is a personal message (done well) take time, 99% of the time it isn’t replied to. Now, I don’t expect a reply but why put effort into something when the reply ratio is so bad. Also, let the ladies check you out, then they can decide if they want to contact you, without them worrying about being inundated with unsolicited messages. I don’t understand why people dislike winks. Maybe they get too much attention here. Well, good for you! |

You’ll spend time and effort on a witty reply and hear nothing, don’t dance to the tune of their entitlement and self importance.

"We seem to be getting loads of winks lately that just go nowhere. We always reply to a wink with a short message but these aren't even been read nowadays.
Anyone else have this?"
Well I’ve had a good look at your profile and pics… and winked |

It’s not just winks and first messages that get ignored . That’s fine and people will say that’s site rules.
What really gets on our nerves is when you are messaging back and forth then they either don’t respond or block. No response. No ‘sorry but …’ message. To walk away mid conversation is just ignorant. |

Yes this happens all the time. A couple will wink….we reply to the wink then they read the message and don’t reply. I don’t get it. Why would you wink if you’re not going to reply when you get a response??
Doesn’t make any sense and is quite frustrating to have made the effort then get ignored when they’ve made first contact. |
