A thread about catfishes as it’ll help newbies and old timers from getting into dangerous situations & wasting time.
I’ve come across some dangerous people in my 5 years here, some people deserve permanent devise bans as they’re repeat offenders.
You can report them to admin but nothing gets done or taken seriously.
It’s running what fab is about for a lot of people, we need the safety of being able to name and shame as it can be dangerous.
Please can a member of admin contact me to discuss and I can ask some questions please. |

I as a female genuinely worry about the single females on here, its certainly something that I would not consider if I was single, I hope you get the answers to your questions xx |

the first paragraph explains that your safety is your responsibility and fab doesn't perform background checks.
You can avoid being catfished by having a brief video chat before meeting. If that isn't possible meeting in a public place will ensure the person is who they say they are before you go further.

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports. ******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above). Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported. Admin PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day. Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted: -- Your feedback has been saved. A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning. By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.****** |

Finally admin have said they will never allow naming and shaming. The possibilities for misuse are too high and there's no way of policing it.
