Well for IM use, you shouldn't really "notice" the change, since MSN accounts can be used to sign in to Skype and you can chat with your MSN friends in Skype.
Longer term? Well that's a reasonable question. I'm firmly opposed to the trend towards IM networks which use your phone number as a unique identifier, like WhatsApp - I don't like handing out a phone number to people at the best of times, and it makes it impossible to join in a conversation from PC rather than phone. I guess Google Talk supports webcams & is probably the most widely available alternative at this point? |

"Of more interest to us is a messaging system that allows more than just two people to talk in the same window simultaneously ........
"
skype allows group messaging so u should be fine, though im not sure if it allows more than two of the people to be on cam at a time or not |

Skype is a crock of shit...if you dont have fast broadband you will struggle, especially using a cam as well..there is no way we will use it for fun if you have to give out your number...

And you can't hide on skype, you can't show offline to some and online to others. You can have a threeway conference chat. You can't change the colour of the font and it is difficult to invite people onto skype to chat. Free phone calls would be handy if you need them. I am seriously thinking of Yahoo messenger, seems more like the msn messenger as was |

and, you can't leave offline messages to be picked up when the receiver logs on. There is no connection bettwen skype and your hotmail box as there was on msn messenger.
Not good at all
