So I'm 40 male , liked and got like back from a profile of female aged 19. 3/4 messages flirting and her profile had no pictures. She sent her number and asked to watsapp. Where we exchanged a few more messages then I fell asleep. Later the next day I get messages from a guy saying he's the dad and he's contacting police saying I've messaged his 14 yr old daughter. In no way did her profile suggest this or never in a million years would I entertain talking to a child like that. I've screenshot the messages to show she gave me the number to chat on Watsapp. So either she is underage and is saying anything to get herself out of getting caught by her parents. Or someone that knows her maliciously have made the profile up and then used her number. Either way I'm extremely worried as I am no predator. Either way if the police choose to contact me I have nothing to hide and I don't believe legally or morally that I've done anything wrong. I've reported the profile to admin on here few hours so hopefully they will look into the profile origins. I wouldn't normally air my dirty linen in public but wonder if anybody else encountered anything like this before,Any advice very welcome.

Screen shot every page of her fab profile and all messages you've both sent on fab and on your phone. As fab may remove the account and if that happens you could lose your evidence to show your innocent.

Contact your local police, get them to at the very least log what you've said above. If its as you've said then you've got nothing to worry about.

There's still the possibility that they look to arrest you to examine your phone, accounts etc to verify what has happened. That's if she or the father report the matter. But if things are as your said then don't panic, just be upfront and provide your screenshots etc and it'll all work out fine.

All the best.

The only way u could be done as a predator is if the person told u her age and u carried on chatting after u knew her/his age.

To be honest u will prop find its a sick guy getting his kicks and having a wank from firstly pretending to be female. Then pretending to be her dad.

Since you have screenshots of a her/his blank profile and screen shots of all messages u have nothing to worry about.

Lesson here is don't reply to blank profiles and only do photo verified profiles.

You will be fine. Fab is an 18+site with age checks in place. If it is exactly how you say it is then how could you ever know ?

I think you will find it’s some sicko making out this whole story to get a kick out of it

You thought she was 19

You have committed no crime if the whole convo was continued as 19 year old and yourself

If I exchange numbers with someone I always ask for a voice note exchange or a very quick video call or video message.

If they won’t do that then I won’t continue talking.

Maybe stick to women older women in future! I wouldn't worry, plenty of weirdos on here, it's probably just a bloke getting his sick kicks.

I never chat away from here unless we've met in person..

This was my first thought, along with the next message from the 'dad' will be give me some money and I'll make it go away.

It's a bl@ckmail scam.

They hope you will freak out, then offer to forget the matter for a money transaction.

It happened to my friends son who was 17.

He was distraught, thought he was going to jail. This was done through Facebook not here.

Sorry this has happened OP. I hope it doesn't get to the point of them asking for money but sadly this kind of thing does happen. Admin will look into your report and take appropriate action.

Reminder to be very cautious giving out your number and having WhatsApp chat with people. WhatsApp in particular links to Facebook and Instagram. If it looks too good to be true it probably is and is some kind of scam.
