PDI and Venus Star Resort a first timers view

Having nearly finished our first holiday in PDI staying at Venus Star Resort thought we'd give our impressions.
First - never go April May or June. Too many Germans, French, Spanish etc. We're not against other nations just found the lack of Brits made comms and finding playmates harder. All those we spoke to said October best for Brits. Also this time of year other than Friday and Saturday clubs are empty. We're talking 3,4 couples or sometimes only us. Fun4all last night we left at 12 only 1 other couple in. Secrets is the most busy and worth the entrance fee. Peaches and cream the nicest club and if with others would recommend as the cleanest, smartest lovely club in pdi.
As to Venus Star Resort again only 4 or 5 Brits mostly Germans, French, Spanish who stick mainly with their compatriots. The resort is lovely but they do nothing to integrate people, no pool games etc which might help break down barriers. There are also lots of nudists not just Swingers. The play room is lovely but never saw anyone in their other than once. The foam party is a washout. Overall it's a lovely resort but little fun unless you like watching people fuck their own partners. And you'll spend £20 a night on taxis. Save your money get nice villa or apartment near town.
Would we return? To Venus Star probably not as it offered little a hotel or villa wouldn't offer for less. Would we return to PDI? Possibly but October to January certainly not April to June. But think our next trip might be Cap Dagde or Hedonism in Jamaica.

We went beginning of March last year and had a great time. We knew it was for us as soon as we got past reception and seen all thought glistening naked body's around the pool lounging, laughing and fucking.
About 60% Brits when we went, mainly German's and Scandinavian's. To be fair it was nice to meet others from different countries and its fair to say we did our bit for multi national relations. Everyone seemed to all get on very well. As our lovely Swedish freind explained even when everyone doesn't speak English we all speak Swinglish.
But totally get that when you are the minority nationally and English isn't the main language being spoken its a bit of a barrier. It's going to be more fun when you can communicate better everyone.
For us we just liked we could relax, be naked and fuck where and when we like without getting told off. That for us was what we enjoyed more that the swinging. Pure relaxation and pleasure. We hated when we had to leave. To be fair we only went out a couple of nights for the swinger scene. Smashed it both night and had a lot of fun. But generally we'd enjoy our lazy sexy day by the pool, smash happy hour hot tub time and have a lovely dinner an enjoy each other. I guess for us being a fully nude resort and being able to fuck where we liked was the most important aspect to a good holiday. We didn't mind there not being much organised things on. We just like to do our own thing and find our ow mischief. We like others but we also like our own space. We found you can have both as you like at Venus Star.

We went at the end of March and had an amazing time. The lack of Brits and no “hilarious” pool games is a major plus for us. We like to meet and swing with people from other countries. We didn’t find any language barriers and as the post above said Swinglish seems to be spoken everywhere!
We went twice to Eden. The first night was busier than the second but we had no problem finding people to swing with and in fact the fist night there was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had.
Sorry it wasn’t for you but what we would say is that we go to Cap d’Agde every year and that is very international too. |

As with all these things it’s the luck of the draw OP; an experience is heavily influenced by those you are able to share it with. We had an amazing 4 nights mid-week at the end of April - went to Secrets 3 nights and it was a completely different vibe each night but all great in their own way. |

Interesting post and can see why Venus might not be for everyone. We went on a day trip for the Saturday BBQ at start of April…..loved the vibe and a fantastic day out. Lucky enough to meet Irish/English to chat with and enjoy the play room, but there was also plenty of international chat and fun to be had and most guests, regardless of nationality or language were keen to chat and mingle.
Discussed if we’d stay at Venus and initially thought absolutely….but the more we weighed up the taxis required to clubs, the fact it’s a bit remote and quiet at night we’ve decided to stick with staying at the heart of PDI but will definitely do day trips again to VS on our next PDI adventures. |

We're currently at La Mirage, and finding something similar - there are a LOT of Germans here.
When there's a mix of nationalities everyone struggles along in English. But with the lack of Dutch and Scandinavians German is very much the dominant language.
But we have found the few other British couples, and they seem a nice crowd. It's just a different experience to other times of the year. |

The winter months are is the best time, the summer months lots of places shut up. When I have decided to go in July this year a will never know lol. Even the dines are devoid of cpls playing.

We paid around 50 euros twice last summer to go into Venus as a day visitor. It was fairly quiet there was only one older English couple there but we had a nice time with an American couple and chatted to a Croatian and Belgian couple who were very friendly. There were a few German couples who kept themselves to themselves but guess its pot luck really. We had a nice time , it's great to be able to be naked and fuck around the pool.
The pools and sunbed are well set up and prices of food and drink were acceptable. We would definitely visit again but probably only on a day basis , definitely think autumn/winter is the time to go. |

Thanks for the info some parts of the form quote it as been €35 for the off days But I suppose if we are ever going to book the hotel itself then we need to give it a go on a day pass though there is a big difference in the price for a day pass on bbq day who does the bbq ? For that I would want the cheeky girl feeding me and then entertaing me in more ways than one |

Seems to be €35 per couple all days, 12-8pm apart from Saturday BBQ when it was €80 per couple but the bbq was fantastic and that fee also included drinks (beers, wine) from 2-4pm and then happy hour (2 for 2 cocktails) kicked in….think that’s the happy hour most days. Good quality drinks.
Central large play room next to the pool area and lots of outdoor beds. |

Thank you for sharing your view. It’s always nice to hear a first experience.
We have friends, and have met some fantastic people who went to PDI for the first time, who swear by staying at Venus.
Having a dedicated resort which is also nudist and off course adults only, fits in lovely with many peoples holiday agendas. Thinking about it, if we went, we’d probably take half as much luggage. Lol
Our first start was in the Irish quarter and we had a super time. We enjoyed our hotel and area, but tended to drift towards the Yumbo and Cita most nights. So whilst taxis were extremely cheap at the time (€3/£2ish) it wasn’t long before we had spent £80+ on cabs, even with lots of walking.
So similar to yourselves, we decided that we wanted to visit again but be closer to the Yumbo and Cita. We’re now in double figures and haven’t looked back.
If you’re visiting October/beginning of November, then this is totally peak swing season, and no doubt you should have a blast.
This is what we typically aim for and it hasn’t disappointed.
That said we also aim for April/May and it’s always been fun, albeit not as busy as our winter holiday there.
Last year we went in June and wasn’t expecting much, but we had an amazing time. Looking at who’s visiting this year, it looks like it could be a fun month.
Definitely noticing some of the quieter “swinging” months, as we call them, are heading on the upwards curve. Long may it continue. |
