Boston, Lincolnshire

We found out last serious girlfriend at Dave's work (managed a clothes shop at the time)

The one before we met in a gay bar.

Do you mean polygamy? Or polyamory?

Bristol

My partner and I were straight for 15 years before we wanted to start going to fetish clubs. So, we made an agreement. Then Covid hit.

Then I got seriously hit on by a woman at work, and technically this was within the terms.

It's... working just fine.

Carlisle usually

"Is it not the same?"

Polygamy is that harem building one man with multiple women who are faithful only to him.

Polyamory is a bit less shitty as a concept

It’s always a good idea to query anyone’s understanding of terms (see also ‘soft swap’!) but, yeah, completely different.

Above poster is dead right - polygamy is one man with more than one female partner (usually married), where the woman aren’t allowed multiple partners. Polyamory is probably what you’re after - multiple loving relationships with the full knowledge of everyone involved.

However - if you’re after FWBs or FBs with little deep emotional commitment, I would steer clear of describing yourselves as polyamorous, as it really muddies the water.

Polygamy is very much based on a religious thing to maintain a patriarchal thing. It is all about the man sowing his seed with multiple sister-wives. The wives know each other but all live separately and the Man shares his time between them and the individual families. Commonly found in Islamic, Hindu, and Mormon faiths and traditions.

ENM covers so very much more. There are an almost unlimited variation in how the relationship dynamic can evolve into. Take a look at morethantwo.com it is a really well written resource.

Who was it who said "Bigamy is having one husband too many. Marriage is the same."

Thank you for clearing that up.

You are correct, POLYAMORY is what we are looking for.

Is there a site where you can meet others?

Many thanks x

Best ones in my experience are Feeld and OK Cupid. Both have their pros and cons, but they seem to be the best of a bad bunch.
