So looking for someone to be a gym buddy. I need to get back to it but struggling to push through the usual “get my arse into gear”. I used to attend the gym with a friend but they moved and work got manic. So looking for someone who can’t push me to make that last lift as well as spotting for them…..
Suggestions anyone? |

Try free local ads, perhaps even at your gym. Also go to the classes there, whilch provide an easier forum for getting to know people. The staff are probably a good resource and might introduce you to people they think or know are looking for the same thing. |

Getting started is always the hardest part. Go, build up social rapport. We enjoy the gym as it also social. Problem is, we are always a bit horny after because of the post workout buzz. Not sure if anyone else gets that. Guess it's the endorphins and lycra lol |

So I recently got back into going to the gym, and signed up with a PT. She puts sessions onto an app for me, and then I record the reps etc I managed and can take pics and vids of my progress. It works really well for accountability. Because I tend to go at the same times to the gym, I've now kinda made a couple of "gym friends" - other folk who are usually there at the same time as me. I quite look forward to a wee chat now lol! But, yeah- maybe see about PT sessions to begin with and that will help you get started

Hire a professional coach with a proven track record. Whether it’s body building, CrossFit, powerlifting, whatever find a coach and a good gym full of like minded people |

My advice join a local gym not one miles and miles away will just be another excuse not to go
Find a time your comfortable with lots of 24hr gyms now
I like morning before work just better for me and my work schedule and makes me feel great at work
After work I have no motivation and it’s to busy , people like different things
I also like working out later about 10 or 11pm nice and quite but not to quite that you worry if you drop something your stuck their until the morning (would depend on your personal gym)
People are friendly and you soon work out who isn’t interested in socializing, but may only be while there working out
I don’t like anybody talking to me while I’m in the zone as they say, but I think I’m pretty sociable before and after
If you getting talking to people you will soon hook up with somebody
Or you may just like it on your own you soon get on a routine where it becomes the normal and like most of who live the gym becomes depressing when you don’t go
Different t for different people but as Nike says just do it |
