Depends what the setup for the social is. If it's listed on fab sometimes you comment on the thread for a place or send a DM to the organiser.
Places can be limited depending on the venue size and if there's a cut off date for signing up.
Keeping track of who is coming helps get the ratio of couples, single ladies and single guys balanced |

Thanks I have but it is not easy to establish if the event is full or not. Do I message and wait to hear if I'm in or not. I have noted alot of the same names appear.. therefore are they very clicky.. |

Pop on the thread if you want to attend or pop the organiser a message.
We've only been to a couple they've all been lovely and friendly not too clicky.

Look around for what seems interesting. Add your interest to the thread and potentially message me organiser.
You could always organise your own, as different interests spark take up from a broader group. Depending on your area, there may be multiple nearby events, such as Lichfield, Birmingham, Derby etc. The Northwest is similar, with hundreds of people within travelling distance to Manchester, Liverpool etc.
You could aim for very small, half a dozen or far larger, such as could be accommodated around Manchester city centre. The time of day/day of the week, also influences choices and availability. |

"Thanks. I'm based in South Wales.. Just relocated here so don't know of any locations/venues that would maybe accommodate a social. "
That's understandable - it's fine to let others who know the area better, to organise things.
I've considered organising a book club type social, in a public library even. I'd not inform the venue we would be deviants attending
There are thousands of people here who can put their ideas and local knowledge together. |

"Thanks. I'm based in South Wales.. Just relocated here so don't know of any locations/venues that would maybe accommodate a social. " . On the forums there is a section for Wales perhaps it maybe worth checking on that to see what is near to your part of Wales. Best of luck with your search

"Thanks I have noted a few which is why I asked the question.. how do they work ect " . The London one’s that I attended I express a interest in the London. The organisers generally try to even out the numbers as it’s mostly guys that want to attend.I will normally receive a message telling me the pub / bar name. One of the things the organisers of the London socials try to do is make sure that those attending have a verification. It’s generally a night in a pub , bar getting to know like minded people these are non play events but nothing stopping two people getting together elsewhere or at a latter date, or finding out about clubs , making like minded friends
