Threatened with violence

So I've just been threatened by someone in a message for no reason.

The message started with abuse.

I've reported and blocked. Now I'm wondering is it worth reporting to the police. Would they take it seriously?

If you’re happy enough to be identifiable (which you presumably are going by public face pictures) then you may as well report it to the police in the same way that you might such a threat on other social media.

Is it a credible threat though?

Considering that most guys on here won’t actually turn up to fuck turning up for a fight seems even less likely.

Do you know them and what they look like where they frequent etc?

Lastly do you want to borrow a shovel and a van?

That last bit made me laugh.

No he didn't show his face and we know nothing about him other than his location is about 40 miles from where we will be.

Agreed on the point that guys don't show up to fuck so yeah probably is unlikely but might report it.

On other thing.

Some test had a little go at stalking us a few months back and when we blocked him he set up another profile and contacted us again.

We soon sussed him out though and recently saw him at a club briefly.

Be wary of new contacts and new profiles for a bit

He’ll soon lose interest hopefully.

If the one threatening was a paid user the site will have payment details and therefore their identity. But I can’t imagine someone who needs to conceal their identity on here (no face pics) would then want to actually identify themselves in a police matter. Report, block. Behaviour like that hopefully a permanent lifetime ban.

Agree with most on here, if they can’t turn up and play….will they turn up ….

However, I’d still report to the police and get a crime number. You never know, he may be worse with others who don’t feel as strong willed to speak out.

I would report it to the Police for one main reason. It is extrememly unlikely they will do anything. Ok, bear with me here, but should this lowlife decide he wants to carry on under a different profile, or god forbid track you down, at least the Police will have a record of it and this would make any further actions easier for them and you.

The Police, quite rightly, will not be interested in a random, non specific unsubstantiated ‘threat’ made via a platform such as this.

Block user, report to Fab and the matter is addressed appropriately

No the police will not take it seriously.

They don’t attend to a house that’s been broken into, just get given a crime number.

I can imagine how unsettling this is but it’s bound to be some sad little man who wouldn’t say boo face to face. You tend to find that those in life who threaten violence are the ones that aren’t capable.

My answer to this would be if you were threatened on any other social media platform would you report it? Fab is no diffrent, a threat is a threat and needs to be dealt with properly to.save this happening to someone else on this site. I'm sorry youv had to go that, some people in this app really need to be thrown of it.
