Fakes threatening to put naked pics on Facebook unless paid
Jump to: Newest in thread
There are way too many fakes on here lately where they chat like they want to meet then threaten you with posting your pics all over Facebook unless they are paid...way too many! This is a crime and the advice online is to not pay and report them to the police! Anyone else had this problem? |

With all the rules Facebook has I couldn’t see them being up for long if it did happen but concerns of this ever happening is why we use aliases and never give enough info for us to be found on social media, being mindful of people phishing should deter it and they will just move on. |

Just like any site it's difficult to monitor everything I've come across stuff not fab related but does make you wonder how many checks are being done on FB |

Report the profiles to admin...
If you are getting multiple messages like that, maybe you are being targeted by someone. It sounds a bit personal... |

People messaging using whats application etc most are already linked to their Facebook account. Same with phone numbers. It's a lot easier than most people realise to track people to their private lives.

Facebook pretty quick with any nudity i have had a few warnings both accidentally put wrong pictures up showing my bollocks less than 5 minutes before they warned me and they remove them straight away. I wouldn't worry about it too much in all honesty |

You won't get a response as the report page mentions. If a report is verified on the site Admin will act.
If you find any of your pics on FB I would suggest reporting the profile there but as people seem to know more about FB than me, then it looks like they wouldn't be able to upload nudes anyway
What you mention in your OP sounds like a one off if happening and if you report and it is verified Admin will sort. |

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.
******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).
Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.
Admin
PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.
Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:
--
Your feedback has been saved.
A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.
By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.****** |
