I see a lot of people say that they get regular std check ups. But just how much of a minefield is it. Do many people still catch std s even when trying to play safe |

Going to the gu simply makes sense.
I use protection however so much passes in other areas and kissing mouth to mouth can be worse than unprotected penetration.
I take certain risks, we all do. I dont use dams etc, however, it's a calculated risk. I get myself checked so I know I haven't picked anything up and that I wont pass anything nasty to someone else. Also for the long term possibilities on my own health.
It's for my piece of mind, my conscience and like has already been said, it's free.

I got given oral gonorrhea last year. I never let people cum in my mouth now. Been clean ever since and get checked every 4 months. I always practice safe sex. |

Isn't the only safe oral with a condom? |

On the subject of catching std's, stats show that condoms are only 97% reliable - that means out of 100 condoms "properly" used there's still the chance "something" could have made past defences in 3 cases. Its not full-proof.
Then there's oral without condoms, kissing when one party has a (slightly) open sore,.. "hand play" but not knowing there's bacteria all around...
..I better stop before I put people off sex for life! Lol.
But on a more serious note as the only real way to keep 100% safe is to not have sex, you might as well have sex, do the best you can to protect yourself and the people you play with, and get checks which help you keep upto date (ie "Last verified 100% safe as at date XXX").
A lot of GUM clinics are walk in, just google this and you can find one either in your local area, or not too far: And, you get free condoms! Win-win |

Yes it is. I should say I only have safe pen sex. The only real safe sex is on your own I think |
