CAPTCHA is a program that tries to stop bots (electronic software) from accessing the websites you are trying to log into - that's why you have to identify pictures with traffic lights or mixed-up letters etc.
It's a freaky program because it actually looks at your computer and studies your internet activity, it also tracks your mouse movements and how long it takes you to answer the question, which is why it often asks you to repeat the process again because it's trying to work to if you're a human or a bot.
So basically, it's a program that stops bad stuff getting into the website you are trying to log into.

I hate Captcha with a passion.
Google search has decided that my computer is showing "suspicious activity"
I.E I am using a VPN so they can't track me properly and sell my info to any Tom, Dick or Harry that wants it so as punishment I have to fill in a Captcha screen with every search.
They can fuck off!
