The most important thing is to relax as much as you can, lots of lube and if you've not tried butt plugs then they're a great way to get used to the sensation....

It is something that has grown on me over the years, for a long time it would have been an absolute no!! - but now surprised how erotic it is - I love it.
As others have said, take it slowly, at your pace!! You will experience feelings that are alien, and may well be a little uncomfortable to begin with.
I would start using perhaps a finger, or maybe a second finger to explore how it feels. Then maybe move onto a small, thin butt plug, and work your way up from there. Until you are used to the feeling, and that you feel you can take increasingly larger things, I wouldn’t try full anal sex .. just take your time getting there.

The best way to get started with anal, is to experiment by yourself. Lube is a definite necessity, and start of just using a finger whilst you're masturbating. Go slowly and find out what feels nice for you, when you are comfortable with one finger you can try a second finger. It's probably not best to try to push yourself too much in one session, but when you can comfortably accommodate two fingers you will find that a smallish dildo or vibrator will be the obvious next step.
Whenever we do anal, it always involves this progression of stretching. We would never just go straight to something cock sized.
