Never explain yourself to your kids, it's ok to have a private life. |

We just say we're going to friends and our son is early 20s. |

Just say you’re going dogging and laugh. I guarantee they won’t believe you and won’t ask any further questions because they’ll be disgusted at your response. |

I just tell my son either
"I am going out tonight"
Or
"I am going to see my friend tonight"
Likewise he will say the same to me if he's going out.
I never ask him where he's been until 3am...
He wouldn't ask me either x |

They probably won't thank you for telling them about your sexual shenanigans |

""a friends party" if it's evening and for daytime events "we're going to a spa" - neither are lies if you pretend that the hot tub is a spa "
Too much detail! Imagine oh mum n dad go to a spa every month they can recommend it, mum can you get Nan gift vouchers when you go tomorrow so she can go for her birthday. Then when Nan goes to the apparent regular spa with the daughter they don’t know her etc |

Nah, it works well for us as K likes a shower after a club visit so we say we went to a spa with a pool so she has a reason to get clean after, if not it's way weirder to have "gone out" to always need to shower when you come home. Our kids are not going to talk about spa visits. |

Because if we ask them where they are going then we expect to know something about that for their safety and it cuts both ways if you want respect. It would seem pretty unreasonable and unfriendly to us if our teens asked "where are you going" and the reply was "none of your business", we're just managing it carefully as we don't want to lie or tell the truth.
At some point our kids will be told that we go to clubs, mostly as they have been brought up in a fairly open and honest environment and we wouldn't them to find out we're swinging by turning up at the same club night as us.... |

When our kids were almost adults they weren't that interested in where we were going they were too busy with what they were doing. They assumed that our lives were boring anyway and when we said we were going out just accepted it. When they were 13/14 it was different they seemed to resent us having a life |

My kids dont usually ask but i got caught out recently with a 'which friends' question as id been to s social and i think i blushed a bit.
But my sister, who knows nothing about my fab life, told her it was none of her business and i was entitled to my own private life! |

Exactly our thoughts. Especially as our 14 and 15 year old HATE us knowing where THEY are going or have been lol. |

Play tovelo habits and then explain to them that your mum and dad likes going to sex clubs to Watch other people's or get fucked themselves by strangers. Then they will never ask you ever again. |

Honestly, if your teens are ringing multiple times when you're out for a few hours, have a word, you're entitled to your own time, set the boundary. Give them an emergency number for another trusted adult. |

You can buy a smart watch and link to your phone. It looks like a watch, but you can read your texts on it. |

Tell them the truth. At best they'll get uncomfortable and move out. |

Nearly adult children - they're old enough that they've probably seen things on the Internet. I'd say be honest and tell them. I had a very conservative upbringing, even at 33 my parents still expect me to be a virgin until I'm married. Don't be guilty about what you're doing, it'll only instil that sex is something to be ashamed of. I honestly believe the crippling repression I had growing up is why I'm still single. Or at least that what my therapist reckons... |

. I think people hugely underestimate how prudish some younger people can be. It's great all the time it's Love Island but a very different thing when it's your parents |

When we go to a club we tell the kids we're off to the Naturist Spa. Worked perfectly for years and they never question it.
If we're meeting/going away with freinds from the scene it's just we're out with our freinds.

I got my kid to help me with a costume for a fettish event. Just told them dress up party. Eventually it came back to bite me and I told them the truth. Went to cos play event and dressed up in leather. They told group that i was a Domatrix. No explaining or anymore questions. If do i remind them I'm the parent not their friend |

Theres plenty of studies or their suggesting that genz's take less risks, have less sex (relatively for their age when compared to past generations at that age) and drink less. |

"This thread is brilliant… something your kids will tell a therapist when they’re older. Imagine finding your parents on fab… mortified!!! "
I shared a taxie back from an fab event with a guy who discovered his step parents were swingers. |
