Wife and I are going to Amsterdam later in the year and hope to take a big step in to the swinging life. We have set our boundaries but any advice from some of you more experienced guys and girls would be very much appreciated.

I think it would be easier to start in your own country rather than abroad

When you go into a coffee shop check what ingredients are in the cakes!

To be fair, the Dutch speak better English than most people in this country!

We have considered it, but don't know where to start.

There are more clubs in England than Amsterdam and there are thousands of reviews on this site

You could perhaps start by making a couples profile ?

And all of them don’t require an international flight!

Depends on where you are love... Eurostar from London and SE might be easier than going oop north!

But there are lots of clubs in London and the south east?!

My main advice would be to check the club's websites in advance and pay attention to the dress code and rules of the establishments you are visiting. The hosts should give you a run down and they're super helpful if you have questions.

If you're going to one of the larger clubs, get your hotel to book a reputable cab company as there are some who will take advantage and try to take you to different places. (Not as common as it used to be, but still worth being aware of)

If you're heading to sameplace, it's very relaxed, especially on non event nights, but the kink party on a Sunday afternoon can be a lot of fun.

Other than that, enjoy and stay safe.

Amsterdam isn’t the best place to start if I’m honest

Same place is great. It holds a special thing for us as that’s where we first dipped our toes in the swinging pond.

Very relaxed and friendly and not too far to walk from the centre

Another vote for Sampleace from me - I lived in Amsterdam (very interesting times) and it's by far the most relaxed and friendly place to go. Nice bar upstairs with a dancfloor and some cages/beds and a nice fun place downstairs - very relaxed if you're dipping your toes in

Make sure you check on their site for the nights you're looking for as their themed nights vary, and they're also quite strict on sticking to their themed. Not in a bad way, just if it's a Rubber themed night and you don't turn up in a rubber, they won't let you in - trust me on that one!x

May I also add my own humble 'two-penneth' that Amsterdam isn't the best place to take a 'big step into swinging life'.

Its of course a great city to visit but my genuine advice (from someone who has visited and worked there many times) is to just enjoy being tourists.

Whatever you decide though I hope you both have a wonderful time.

Thanks all for the good advise. The reason we chose Amsterdam is that we visited overnight whilst travelling a few years back and have always said if we were to do it, it would happen there.

We are considering Fata Morgana as have read some good reviews on here.

Also now considering something a little closer to home after reading some of the comments.
