Less is more with make up, always use less than you think you will need, you can always add more if you want to. Avon Magix is great for making facial skin look even in tone and provides a light reflective base, use a pale blusher on the apples of your cheeks (smile and the bit that puffs up just under your eye apply powder blusher with a large brush and blend like mad), a sightly darker blusher applied in a line with a thin brush just under your cheekbone blended like mad again will give teh effect of high cheekbones and shape your face a bit. What colour are your eyes, often the shade of eyeshadow depends on that, whatever you choose have a darker and lighter shade of the same colour apply the lighter shade on the inner corner of your eye lid and the darker shade on the outer and again blend like bloody crazy . Mascara, always go for waterproof and to avoid smudging don't apply to your lower lashes.
Estee Lauder Touche Eclat is expensive but applied under your eyes and in the bow of your upper lip can make a huge difference to the way you look, hiding any dark shadows and emphasising the shape of your mouth but it does refelct the light back in photographs and shows up.
As far as brands go I have tried loads and in all truth Aldi Lacura range is inexpensive and really good, Max Factor is medium range price wise and good too it's a matter of trial and error mostly though.
Sorry this is a bit long but I hope some of it helps a bit |

If your front view is as good as your back view I'm pretty sure you don't need any help |

also OP I forgot to add, exfoliate your face twice a week (gently)and moisturise every day but escpecially before you apply make up and it will always sit much better on your face.
Also always use a lipstick even if its a tinted gloss |

Moisturise, then use a liquid foundation that suits your skin tone dont go too dark it'll look awful. Apply by dabbing with a make up sponge. Eyeshadow use a base cream before applying you will get better color it will help and cracks on your lids and it will last longer, use the lighter colour under your eyebrow to the crease before your eyelid, apply the medium color on the eyelid and then the darkest colour in the crease. Use a waterproof eyeliner along the lashline and under your eye if you wish, you can use a small amount of black powder on a very thin brush to blend it. The put mascra on and curl lashes if you wish. Apply blusher on the apples of your cheeks and suck in your cheeks and sweep up. I use lipstain I find it lasts longer and doesnt come off easy you can gloss over if its not shiney enough, you can get stains that are sort of like marker pens to help get a good shape. Maybelline are good and body shop does a nice liquid stain. Get a consealer for and bags or blemishes and blend. Less is more, a good brush set is great ebay have loads. |
