I've been back on the site after a couple of months away and I have received a few abusive and disgusting messages this week.

Obviously I have reported them to the admins but I wondered if there has been an overall attitude shift among single males to women setting boundaries and demanding basic decency and respect i.e. no dick pics in messages?

I don’t think rudeness is a sex thing! I just think it’s a people thing. I have had rudeness from all sexes. It’s just some people are rude some people are not.

The internet has caused people to become accustomed to being rude with no come back. That's why reporting is important .

I think there's always been idiots who are rude online ,it's easy to be anonymous behind a screen

Half of them wouldn't dare say the things they do online in real life.

Definitely report them op and remember if says more about them than you .

In my limited experience I find that it is too much testosterone which often predicates rude messages.

I have on occasion, in the past, been childishly draw I to tit for tat remarks which on reflection are ridiculous.

I have recently been studying Buddhism and I find that this has had a profound effect on my demeanour.

I find that a lot of single men are rude and abusive. They think this website is like t*nd*r and other dating apps and it's exhausting at times. So I totally sympathise with you. I can't imagine anyone laying on their back with their legs open waiting for the message "are you free now?" I'm not going into the details of what they dream of doing to me....

If i don't answer to a message the guy would call me a time waster and even worse. I ignore the negativity but it's disheartening, are there nice people left to play with?!

I think it’s got worse over the last year or so.

Manners, entitlement, abuse etc….

I think for the most part people are generally polite. Trouble only seems to occur when boundaries are set/pointed out/reinforced.

I have a very detailed bio and explain both who I am and what I'm looking for but some people still choose to ignore this.

You reporting and blocking is the best way forward. Men not being able to control their mouth/temper/opinion is a huge red flag. It's a shame that some people ruin things. But never feel pressured or that you have to lower your standards. I don't know what the figures are but it feels like there's 5000 men to every woman. ??

The number of abusive replies or nasty messages has increased since lockdown I’ve found.

I think generally people are more rude since then and Fab is an example of that.
