I have heard of it, but not for some time. As I remember it's a way to characterise a number of different mechanisms without giving further investigation... eg tremors, so long as the major aspects of ill health are excluded things that could contribute to them aren't investigated - instead are labelled a neurological disorder.
Not to put a fine point on it but asking to see a specialist isn't too much of an ask if you are worried |

I have had disassociative seizures - a misnomer considering they are assumed to be psychogenic in nature and mine had a physical cause - intracranial hypertension during acute encephalitis. |
