The valid reason for anyone to hide their profile so they have full control.to not receive unwanted messages and cock pictures as no one is able to message.but as you say you received a message they might have changed their minds  |

I ignore messages from hidden profiles. Youve hidden your profile for what ever reason, thats ok, but then to message and ask for pictures or what ever else, how do i view your profile to ascertain if you’re someone i want to interact with…?! No ta. Theres enough shady profiles on here without that. Lol. |

the best reason is more than likely they are not a couple and probs just a single guy collecting pics,, if you saw the profile the profile will not be photo verified or meet verified and got a full or hidden friends list,, all good indicators of a picture collector  |

Not everything done by people on this site is evil.
If its a couples profile it could be a simple case as 1 person putting the profile into hidden without telling the other person.
Or they have simply forgotten to do it. Or they did it by mistake.
Yes there is a chance they are just pic collectors/time wasters but don't automatically assume this is the case. |

I hide my profile when I'm not looking to meet
But then I wouldn't be messaging someone new as I agree it's a bit off messaging someone if that person can't see whose messaged them
But maybe it's an oversight, maybe a photo or something about your profile grabbed their attention & they forgot their profile was hidden, maybe reply saying thanks for the message but I'd love tu see who im chatting to, they'll either show you their profile, send photos , ignore or complain but it's a bit off if they do either of the last two |

I understand people hiding their profile if they don't want to be inundated with messages etc and are taking a break but I've never been in agreement with those people being able to engage in the forums in the same way.
Lots of comments here about context and misunderstanding. I can make a comment and people are free to look at my profile and that may well add context to what I have to say but a similar comment from a hidden profile can often be seen as throwing a forum grenade and running away to those who don't know that person.

...or the profile was open when they sent the message/friend request and was hidden later by the time it was picked up by the recipient. |

I don't exactly have a hidden profile, but it is definitely void of content and for valid reasons.
As much as I love FAB so very very much. And I really do. It is an amazing place and resource.
It is just full of fucking drama!!!
If people really want to find me. Well they know where I am.
