We might sound a bit nieve on this subject but here go's.

Mouse isnt on the contraceptive pill but has had a coil fitted so every month mother nature takes over .

What we would like to know is ,is there a tablet Mouse can take to stop this months period and if there is are their any complications or dangers in doing so with her having the coil fitted .

There is a tablet you can take called norethisterone I don't know if it would interfere with the coil at all but go and see your GP asap as it needs to be taken a few days before a period is due

I have a coil that stops them alltogether. It has hormones in it, not sure what but try asking to swap the coil.

I know youve said she has a coil but just in case you ever think of changing your mind-never EVER take cerazette. Its a contraceptive pill and including myself i know 2 other girls that were on it and for all of us the side effects were and still are even after not being on it for a couple of years-terrible! Mainly it makes you miserable to the extreme but there are other things as well.

On the up side-no periods so it is rather convenient for playing lol

i've used cerazette and never had any problems with it. Side effects only affect some people, not everyone

I was on Microgynon 30 for about 9 years,no problems at all, until Doc wouldn't renew it because of my blood pressure.Put me on Cerazette and I don't think I was on it a month before I stopped, never been so miserable in my life!

Obviously it will be different for different people but I'd never touch it again.

Have a search on the forums, there's been a couple of threads on sponges that may be of use to you.

I have the Mirena coil that delivers a low dose of progestogen over a period of time locally.

I no longer have periods except a few spots for one day, brilliant!

And no PMT like soreness of the breasts either.

Brilliant!

See Microgynon makes me an evil bitch! My doctor put me on Ovysmen (still a combined pill, but different mix) and now I'm much more chilled.

Speak to your doctor and weigh up your options. I know lots of women who have the injection and that stops them having periods but my doctor won't give it me because of my weight - I'm considering the implant because I want a change from the pill, and there is also possibility of it stopping my periods which is of a huge benefit to me! x

The GP can give you a course o tablets that would halt it for a short period of time ... I took them when I went on holiday.....

I had the implant for a year, total nightmare. Totally irregular, messed up my playtime so I got it taken out again.

On Microgynon now, no problems at all. No idea if it makes me an evil bitch or if I was just born this way.

Im on my 2nd mirena now. 1st one was great, 3 days of sore boobs, slight back pain, 2 days of spotting, job done. But since I had it replaced after 5 years, Im all over the place!! moody as hell, sore and spotting for 2 wks at a time I have a blood disorder which excludes me from being on the Pill, but I wish I could find something that makes my life a bit easier lol

Don't panic. Lol

Mrs P had exactly the same thing happen when she had hers fitted. It gradually gets less until it all but stops.

It did take a good six months to totally settle down though.

Now, like others she is so glad she had it fitted.

True, it's not for everyone but give it 6 months to be sure...

Mrs recently had the implant fitted, about 6 weeks ago. Had a very light period that lasted 2 weeks, but nothing since. Here's hoping.

i have taken this pill for 2 years without any side effects at all..in fact i've never been happier lol to not have to go through that time of the month is great.

I have read that this 'pill' can have side effects tho so am thinking it all depends on the person maybe its my age!! Lol

I was also told by my GP that having the coil fitted would also stop periods. Maybe there are different types.

If your doc does phone appointments just phone them - i did for the last party we were having - he just left a persription for me to pick up. Took them day or two before i was due stopped a day or two before i wanted to come on and hey it worked. They only give you enough for 10 days and wont keep giving you them but for special occ they will. I just told the doc i was going away for the weekend as it was davy birthday.

Hope you get sorted

I had the implant since Oct 2010 and where I did have about 6 months free the rest were a complete mess, I had to have it taken out last month because I was so sick if the irregularity and constant spotting!

I'm looking at gettin the Mirena Coil put in next week but 1.im paranoid it will get lost/move/come out and 2. Although its documented to have stopped a high percentage of womens periods, id probably be the unlucky one who's got worse!! Might just give it a go though just don't want it messing up playtime!

I had the Mirena for nine months, in all that time i only stopped bleeding for a total of 11 weeks !

I finally got it removed on 10th August and haven't bleed since. My headaches have gone and so has my exhaustion. I feel SO much better in myself.

But what one person finds miraculous another will find a nightmare
