People change their minds and to save being hassled or appearing in search they block people.

I do it with people who are not looking for my age group. Makes it easier to search.

I block if they start bombarding with messages before I have had a chance to reply

I get bumping a message, especially if you've been having a good chat, but some people take it to the extreme.

I hate the most is 3/4 messages in quick succession ..???..??..done a runner..you ok..when you don't reply straight away or within the imaginary appropriate "reply by" time frame they set in their head.

I blocked someone off another site after a few messages were sent. Mainly hello and how are you doing. Then I got a message asking if I was vaccinated? I said yes are you ?

She then sent a paragraph of some online nonsense and ranted about the vaccine and those who were vaccinated.

I blocked her I’m guessing she would know why but you never know.

So with that example you’d think it’s a bit obvious. However as you’re only getting to know people with initial messages, you’ll never know what tiny thing has set that person’s warning signs off. It could be quite innocent remark that doesn’t sound too bad in person but in writing it’s not come across well.

Or it could be they just got bored or talking to someone else and chose them instead.

Either way it happens I admit it’s not nice but hopefully it won’t be a regular occurrence when chatting with someone.

I often show as being on line when in fact I'm nowhere near the laptop so if I don't reply immediately I'm blocked, some strange people but I suppose we should expect that.

We usually get blocked when replying to a message asking if they've read our profile.

(We obviously know they haven't, just being sarcastic)

The main reason people chat then block is that they have finished wanking.

Neither of us do any kind of sex chat now.

We meet social or sexual it doesn't matter but we are not collecting pics nor are we wank material

The strangest one is when somebody sends an angry, abusive message then blocks immediately so you can't reply. That's like an angry person shouting at you from across the street then running away before you can say anything back.

I see a lot of statuses complaining about poor manners or just being a twat. My anxiety and mental health always makes me worried I dropped into that car but then I remember:

I have over 30 verts and that’s from active profiles. I imagine if some were active it would be more.

I pride myself on being friendly and polite.

I have a lot of friends here who believe in me.

But MAN when you like a profile and they block for whatever reason it still sucks because you can’t even look at their photos anymore. Or subconsciously agree with their statuses.

I've got so many blah, lazy, dick-filled messages from men - I've blocked lots with sordid updates so they can't message me later. I don't feel great about it, but I don't think I can bear getting even more "Hiya when are you free" messages from men who haven't read my profile and have a dick for a profile pic.

You say it’s for no reason, but there is always a reason. You might be able to figure it out if you look at the point in the chat that it usually happens, but even if you can’t they definitely have a reason.

We will block some one if they mess us around, such as making arrangements which they fail to keep without an explanation.

Or if after meeting them we realise that we did not/will never connect

Can't be bothered wasting time on people who we would normally not speak to over the garden fence

Live is too short

Hi OP. First and foremost don't take it personally, just move on.

I expect that this happens to most people. Has certainly happened to me: exchanged a few messages, exchanged face pics, was told that I am 'hot' and then got blocked!

I can see the POV that there is 'always a reason' but as they have blocked you you're not going to know what that reason is; so don't torment yourself by trying to work out a puzzle that you won't be able to solve! Unless of course getting blocked after a few messages is a recurring pattern for you? Perhaps look for what that pattern is IF it is a regular occurrence?

PM me if you like?

Best wishes.

If we know guys haven't read our profile (which is pretty obvious) when contacting us we just block them at that point. If they'd bothered to read it they'd know why...

Everything people do here is far a reason. It takes many chats to filter out unmatched people. The unmatched get blocked. Even the nicest people do this, once there's no point in keeping interest and connection going.
