What does a wink mean
Jump to: Newest in thread
Hey I’m just wondering what does it mean when I wink someone does it mean that that person or persons are interested or does it just mean they have noticed me
The only reason why I’m asking is because I winked someone last week and this week they messaged me saying thanks for the wink |

A wink as we have found can mean many things. We have discovered the best way of finding out is if you get one and are interested send a message of introduction and see what they wanted. |

Only you will know your reason for sending someone a wink, just as only tgey will know their reason for sending one.
Thing is, I've found tgey're often difficult to interpret and so I try to avoid using them and prefer to send a message instead now |

I guess it's to attract attention on the grounds that the person you send one to has obviously attracted your attention? |

Cant say I'm 100% sure what purpose winks serve.
I assume winks are for people who don't want to message or are unsure if you would be interested in them.
We've had winks, messaged the winker under the assumption they are interested and then been completely blanked by them.
So we ignore them now mostly. If someone is really interested, they'll message or vice versa.

It's usually done I found to get someone's attention that they have previously chatted to or to get the attention of someone they haven't without having the hassle of writing a first message. More of an ice breaker really. |

Well I winked someone couple of days ago and they messaged me thanking me for the wink and they were saying how they get a lot of messages and that they would message when they were free which was absolutely fine by me I will be honest I didn’t really care I just sent the wink because they had Taunton in their bio |

I tend to wink if I like the profile but im not sure they'd like mine, plus my 1st messages are horrendous, I feel a bit more confident once a wink has been returned to then message.

I am a winker.....I can neither confirm or deny I've misplelled that.
I always wink for it to be used as a "hey, you interest me" approach . The only thing I've found is that an awful lot of winks go ignored (haven't worked out whether that's just my winks or winks in general) |

I regularly wink people although sadly don't get many in response! It's a bit dispiriting when most are ignored so I end up thinking it's easier to be ignored by a wink than a personally crafted message. I wish more people used them, if I like a couple I'll wink them, if they like me they'll wink back and then I'll know its good use of my time to write them a nice personal message. |

To me a wink is someone who is too lazy to put in the effort to message so I have always ignored every single one in my four years on here!
Effort is noticed by the right people, but I do know how soul destroying ignored messages are, it's a fine line so you need to find where yours is x |

"I like to wink at a nice pic I have seen to show some appreciation for it...doesn't always mean I want to meet that person!! "
Fabbing a pic and winking a profile are two different things are they not? |

It can mean that they're maybe interested in you. I personally think that winks are lazy as if that person is interested enough then they should send a message instead. Men should know that to us ladies, we don't often wink back if we're not interested in them x |

I don't understand OP. You sent a wink but you don't know why you sent it ? I receive winks occasionally and I will reply with the message " thank you for your wink " . It's usually a single guy who thinks I might be interested in single guys despite my profile suggesting nothing of the sort. However because I receive so few messages or winks like most men; I make the effort to reply but I am not going to put more effort into it than that just for a wink. |

Why would you think you winking someone, would mean they are interested?
Doesn't make sense ? |

That’s exactly what we do when we receive one. If the other person is shy it kinda starts the chat dialogue! |

If someone walked passed you in the street and winked what would you think. Generally it would indicated they found you attractive. ??
Some would wink just to acknowledge ?? you ?? bit of a cheeky wink ?? . |

Hells bells, if someone sends a wink = they're interested.
If you return the wink =you're interested. Let contact commence.
It's not lazy, it's just an expression of interest. |

A wink can be a polite hello, or expecting the other to start off with the first message can be lazy but can also be as a way they noticed you so sending one back and let them begin with the first message |

I usually use them to show I am interested.
I usually wink then send a message.
However not had much luck with the ladies, so I just think they are a waste of time.
If I get a wink I always wink back and even message.
Icebreaker usually |
