Morning,
Following on from the interesting post about messaging being a numbers game for male profiles, how many messages do couples and females send on average each week? I’ve got a view about what the scale looks like on average, with males sending the most, then couples, then females. But wondered if that assumption is wrong.
Share how many contacts you initiate in a normal week, and what criteria you use to choose the lucky recipients. 
We might make contact with 3/4 profiles after seeing something that makes us curious. We like their pics, we like what they’ve written, we like what they like.

I search locally, check photos, read profiles and verifications.
If I then like what if found, I’ll then try to tailor a short but polite message asking if they would like to check out my profile and reply back.
I would of hoped that this respectful approach would make me stand out and get a response but generally it fails to make any difference..... yet I keep trying with the same old plan of attack ..... god only knows what I need to do to be successful on here?
Do I have to spend months with a personal trainer transforming myself into a muscular Adonis or should I pose naked for the camera so that I expose the true state of my tired middle aged body? |

Interesting that 2 profiles have posted, not answering the question. Does this suggest that the requisite groundwork is being skipped when they message too?  |

Not everyone wants an instadude. Engage people you like and keep making the effort with messages and it'll pay off. I was a single guy on here and I did ok, no six pack in sight! |

Doubt we send an initial message much more than once a week! We answer people who write to us (where possible, ignoring those who totally miss our personal criteria) and chat with people we know.
For initiating contacts our process is something like:
1) I (Mr) do most admin as I like perving everyone’s pics 
2) If a profile catches my eye (couple, female, male) I ALWAYS read it and ALWAYS read verifications (cross checking who they have met)...this is partly a “quality control thing” and partly checking to see if genuine.
3) I create a shortlist of people I think Mrs B might be interested in.
4) When she fancies it (might not be once a week) Mrs B checks out my shortlist. She will do the same as step 2.
5) We agree on who to contact and draft a message together.
6) Message gets sent and we see what happens.
To be honest though, this past 16 months that has reduced further. We rarely reach out as we aren’t meeting so seems little point right now! |

Not intended as an insult. We all skin read things occasionally, but on here where the few words and pics you get are what people make their minds up on, they're essential to get right.
If you don't do the groundwork, your chances go down  |
