Hello Fabbers, my name is L and I'm fairly new here.
I'd really appreciate it if someone explained to me why Sydney Australia is mentioned on almost all of the profiles and why they are entitled to access this website for research purposes? Should I also write a statement on my profile that tells them to fuck off??
Thank you! x |

Look at the site FAQ. It's an urban myth, don't add it. |

This is the section that explains the Sydney Uni disclaimer and any others you see
We've noticed a legal disclaimer paragraph that some people have on their profiles. Should we have one too? What are they about? Do they do any good?
The "legal disclaimer" is pointless nonsense and all does is take up extra space on our servers. Please remove it if you have it on your profile. If you're worried about privacy please set your account to be hidden from non-registered users on your privacy page (this also hides it from search engines but may take a week or two to drop out of search) and remove the notice (and encourage others to do likewise).
Common sense advice would be NOT to put any information on your profile (here, or on any such site) that could identify you or that you don't want to become public! So for your own benefit, don't post phone numbers, real names or email / instant message addresses on your profile that people might see or "Google".
Some people may put non-identifying pics on their public profile but keep face pics private or for friends, for example. |

I graduated sometime ago so no longer doing any research for Sydney University here . So rest assured and you no you don't have to write a disclaimer as its not legally enforceable. |

If we see this on a profile, we never respond to a message, if the people are so thick to think it means anything, then they arent the sort of people we want to meet, i suppose it seperates the wheat from the chaf |

Understandable but harsh |

Absolutely agree with this sentiment.
Ditto the Facebook and European Court of Human Rights you often see along with the Sydney University drivel. Immediate no-go!
You’d have thought that anyone with any brain at all would realise that suing Sydney University from the UK is totally impractical even if the disclaimer had any legal basis....

It's not even worth wasting your time putting it. Best advice is to go into your settings and change it so you can't be searched on internet search engines. Also I would set it to non registered members and site supporters can't message you. Saves all the messing about and time wasters on here . Happy to offer any fab advice you need or anything you need to know about the local swinging clubs seen as we are not far away from each other |

It started because people are idiots who will copy and paste any old claptrap that often doesn't even relate to this site without even reading (let alone thinking about) it.
...
"Fabswingers is a publicly traded entity..." Hmmm... Ok, well done, you at least changed the site name from Facebook, but did you read any further? Do you know what that even means? |

Another statement which is appearing more frequently is that Fab Swingers is now a publicly traded entity. Both this and the Sydney university one are a complete load of bollocks and a waste of space. Often with little or no description of the people posting.
