I would look at cosplay or theatre type paints instead of getting child suitable or cheaper items off amazon.
It can be hard to justify the expense given the paint isn't reusable, but the end results should be worth it. |

Acrylics are great for body painting. I tried them a few times the colors are intense and vibrant. Not irritating. I used winsor & newton, a bit diluted with water,also gouache would be good, a bit dull but nice too. the only issue with the acrylics would be taking it off, but a good soak in a bubly bath would do the job. Share some pics if you get to create something |

I would suggest only using paint that has been tested and is suitable for use on the body. Snazaroo is very easy to use, inexpensive and completely safe if. That would be a great place to start.
You could cut up a bath sponge, spray it with a little bit of water and use at to apply it, and to blend colours for a base, then use a brush to do more details over it. |
