I was just wondering out of curiosity if anyone has been completely honest when visiting the sexual health clinic for regular tests. Do you openly tell them you are a swinger or something along them lines or do you pretend the amount of people you've had sexual experiences with is similar to a non swinger?! I've lied tbh but its not in my nature to? Good and bad feedback more than welcome! X |

Honest with them, ran out of room on the input box when asking about sexual partners last time I was there (and I forgot about a party I'd been too)!!!! They've seen and heard it all before, nothing to be embarrassed about |

you should be honest as they will do a more thorough check if they know you have multiple partners, plus for certain groups of people such as swingers, escorts etc they allow you more regular checks, i go every 4 weeks and have the full works, viginal, anal, mouth swabs and blood tests, they dont do the full works as regular as that where i go unless they feel you are an at risk group
They really wont care they hear it on a daily basis |

Pointless lying..
I went years ago..told them my concerns after we swung for the first time, by the time the guy had finished explaining things I was 99% reassured that we would be clear (and we was) ..if I had made up a load of bollocks 1 they would have seen right through it and 2 may have thought I was more high risk than I was and that would have worried me shitless until I got the result back. |

All the places I use I am 100% honest.. it means I get more condoms, and more tests offered.. if I am dishonest then what is the point.. they are there to help me keep an eye on my sexual health.
I see it as the same as lying at weight watchers, the only person I cheat is me..

There is no point to lying at the clinic. The staff know you don't usually catch these sort of problems sipping tea at the Vicar's tea party...
So many people put it off, but it's so important. A lot think they have to book an appointment, but many clinics have walk-in appointments where you don't have to get nervy first and can just go and get checked there and then...
Remember there's no such thing as can't... just go!

Be totally honest, they can't give you the correct advice unles you tell them the truth and they will have heard and dealt with more than you can imagine and not bat an eyelid about it
My experience has always been positive
Some of my non swinging friends are far more promiscuous than I am,so don't ever think that you'll be judged for your lifestyle, they positively encourage the fact that you're sensible enough to take good care of yourself
Anyone that has an attitude like the person above has just mentioned should report it to the nurse in charge because the last thing they want is to scare people from getting checked out

When I went for my first full check I'd been swinging six weeks, and admitted to the doctor that I'd felt like a kid in a sweetie shop with all these guys to choose from.
He asked where the shop was!
Was too embarrassed to give the site address lol. Perhaps I should have done, he was quite hot.... |

well i went along after reading what everyone said on here and had a stern looking black female doctor interview me about my sexual habits..For example she asked how many partners have you had in the last year,i said...i'm a swinger,i have no idea! I decided i would be honest, and i'm sorry but she looked very disapproving and made me feel like a freak.I'd never go to that one again, shame on you cobridge stoke, and in a lovely brand new multi million pound building too.She even refused my request for throat swabs!!

+1 Same applies with your GP - they're medical professionals. They have seen and heard much 'worse' than anything they could hear from a swinger..... Ask anyone who's worked in A+E..... !

I'm new to swinging and have never been tested.
Although I always use condoms for vaginal/anal penetration I do suck and have been sucked bare.
I'm looking for advice as to how to get tested.
I wouldn't know where to go.
Anybody in Scotland have any advice, I don't know if the same system is in use south of the border

I LOVE my GUM clinic!
The 1st time I went there was a language barrier problem and it resulted in her misunderstanding, thankfully not enough to affect anything, but the info she had wasn't completely correct.
The next time I asked to see someone different and they were very accommodating. The woman I see now just uses it as a girly gossip session, asking me who I'm seeing, what I've been up to etc. I've actually been known to just hand over an extensive list of names and approximate dates!
Like other posters have said, there's no point in not being honest. They get people in there who've got d*unk and had sex up an alley with a bloke who's name they don't know. I don't drink so all my decisions as carefully considered! |

Pop GUM clinic ... then your area into any search engine. It will bring you a list up

I had an appt with the gynae who asked me whether I had a steady partner. I told her I was a swinger she didn't treat me any differently than how she had started treating me. |
