I favour a proper douche like a ball with a tube attached, just fill with lukewarm water and lie on left side when applying it. You may need to use lube when inserting. Sit on toilet and don't push until you feel it all begin to empty and wait until it is all empty. Repeat until you are happy. It is something you cannot rush but 10 to 15 mins as part of getting ready and you will feel clean and confident. Obviously shower afterwards.
I don't think remarks about hosepipes, bog brushes etc. are very helpful when someone asks a genuine question! Tasmin. |

Once a woman I was seeing suggested we have anal sex. But she insisted that she cleaned her arse first. So she took the head off the shower and shoved the shower hose up her bum. Seemed to work, if you catch my drift. thumb) |

Well said ladies - I couldn’t agree more xx
I would be very wary of using anything that exerts a constant pressure ... or flow - until I knew what I was doing or how to do it. There is significant risk of doing damage this way... or creating a longer term ‘evacuation’ issue if you put too much water in.
Go with bulb douche in the first instance, simple, cheap, easy to use - and controllable!
Good luck, and enjoy it xxx

We have an attachment that fits on the shower head when needed |

I am sure some of the faecal matter/water makes its way back to the shower hose once the shower is turned down/off ... wouldn’t want to shower with that in future.
I don’t do anal at all, but if I did I’d use a traditional enema/douche rather than contaminate my whole shower |

I was going to say wait till you're 55 and the NHS will do it for you just before they inspect your insides with a shufti-scope - but you're already past that! Maybe just remember how they did it! |

No, she pulled the shower hose out while it was still running. Then used the water to wash away any detritus.
But you are probably right about it not being very hygienic. |
