So, I've got a ton of footage from our last meet which I'd love to share on various sites, but I'm lazy when it comes to video editing, and everything has big old watermarks etc..

Any advice on an easy/cheap way to have these videos blurred up?

I appreciate the offer, but that would be like handing over my debit details and trusting its just for science! :D

believe me, I'd love to take the help! xD

Not following the watermark bit, on video?

Anyway for one of my other special interest hobbies I’ve just been using the latest version of iMovie on Apple and that is now very easy to trim clips and move them around, put music over etc.

Blurring software I saw on the AppStore, so there will be android equivalents.

Even with those, I find editing video a complete bore and a chore.

Cheapest way to get someone to do it for you will be using some crowd sourced service, but as you say can’t see how that’s different to handing over your bank details to a complete stranger.

Oh yes, 100% the easiest way would be to hire some college age guy to do the work for $10! but.. if I was said college guy, I'd then be selling that shit TO porn sites!

So yeah, tis tricky! I'm on PC, but every program I try to do video editing with inserts an ugly ass watermark over things etc, figured people around here might be good/experts at this kind of thing! :D

Assume the watermark is because it’s a free or unlicenced copy of the s/w?

i have lots of vids on my profile all done and edited on my android, its best to limit editing to one or two apps as they are all doing same thing in end, best advice is think when filming to set phone correctly so heads are off screen, not always possibly i know if moving about but the fact ur limited to 1 min uploads makes it easier.i think blurring ruins the finished footage but u can stretch ur footage through apps so that heads go off screen and looks much better,2 i use crop and trim and action director,if u do use any and want water mark off do a final crop and trim to remove it

Thanks for the advice with filmora etc, Ill give those a shot!

I will in future film smarter, this was a rather ambitious one, where half the footage is on my cell the other half on an actual camera!

It's great having 2 POV's. there is a scene where I leave the room and come back to a very different one! which was nice to go back and see what had transpired!

I can highly recommend openshot for free video editing on pc. I’ve used it for many a project and whilst I’ve not specifically tried blurring parts ( haven’t had a need for it ) you are most definitely able to overlay objects so I’m sure you’d be able to at least block out if not blur.

Being open source software, there’s loads of useful videos on YouTube showing how to get the most out of it so might be worth looking there to see what it can do

good shout will try that one too!

It's a tricky one as the blur well, moves! so need to find a 'tracking' overlay where it attempts to move the blur around!

I'll figure it out I'm sure!

Thanks!

If on iPhone and wanting a blur use video mosaic

All you do is pic the size off the dot then hold ur finger down and it blur what ever ur figer is on grate from needing to blur a movieing face or something as you just movie ur figer along with it

Also alows the video to be slowed down when bluring and once done video will be played back at normal speed

I use Avid Media Composer | First

It has quite a learning curve, but it is very powerful and does have the ability to blur whilst tracking movement. It is free, but you do need a relatively powerful PC
