Hi everyone I need some proper advice. I somehow got a message on here (I know shocking) but they are a college they have hidden their pics so I don't know who it is but they said where I work so I know they know me. How should I go about this do I talk to them and potentially do the deed or do I ignore them. Any help would be nice |

"Report the account first then block x"
This. Unfortunately, sometimes people also do this for kicks OP. Don't take too much notice and remember, if they try to out you, they are doing it to themselves as well. Please don't let them spoil your time on here by giving in to them. Xx |

It might not be a colleague, it could be someone who knows you. Either way messaging with personal information about you while not saying who they are is creepy and unkind. If it was me I'd block them. If they aren't prepared to say who they are straight up they're highly likely to be mucking you about |

Someone is winding you up OP and succeeding. If you have looked at the senders profile you can see verifications and the profile text . All of that is going to tell you something about the sender's honesty. Depending on the message tone and content you say thank you for your message or do not reply at all. |

Don't stress nor lose a night sleep worrying about bullshit. Life is for living. You are doing your thing not bothering anyone. However, they're here wasting time spying and creeping on you.A work colleague cannot take your private/personal pics or information of adult content to work. The will be sacked
and you could still take further action, if you wish. For me, I will respond like this: Congratulations for finding me and good to see you on here too. However,i have no plans of leaving here any time soon.Enjoy!! |

I'm assuming you meant a colleague (co=worker) not a college (place of education). I was a little confused at first and was about to agree with those who said block, as there have apparently been cases of people using the site for "research" hence all the "To Sydney University" profile text garbage.
But yeah, if it's a colleague, I'd probably ask who they are, and if they refuse to disclose then I'd probably report and block, I'd consider it to be an abuse of the site and creepy to taunt you, if not outright stalkerish. I might go as far as reminding them of that before reporting/blocking.
If they are genuine and interested then I'd expect them to let you know who they are pretty soon and again, if they won't, I'd block. |

When I first joined, I used the most recent pics I had at the time, which were me in costume backstage at a dance show, but I covered my face. About a year ago, some guy contacted me saying he knew me because he recognised those photos. He was very young, early 20s, and I don’t meet men that young. He said he’d seen me on Facebook and he recognised the costumes because his girlfriend went to the same dance school. He even got my name right but I lied and said he was wrong. He was definitely trying to get me to meet him by using the fact that he knew me as leverage. I hid those pics immediately, kept him talking to try and find out who he was, got him to send face pics, and kept screenshots of everything just in case. I told him there was no way I’d meet him if I’m friends with his girlfriend, and that I don’t like very young men anyway. The next morning, I was going to see if he escalated to openly trying to black mail me and report him if he did, and I was going to block him either way, but by the time I logged in he’d deleted his profile.
My advice, if this situation is worrying you, would be to hide your face pic and block the person. You don’t have to reply, but if you do you can just deny it. If they’re threatening to out you unless you meet them or whatever they’re asking for, report them and keep screenshots of their messages and profile. |

A good reason for not displaying face pictures publicly here if at all. |

Unfortunately this & a need to retain some anonymity is the reason why I don't put up a face shot either! Will a dick or body shot really make a difference on it's own??? Doubtful!
Shame as it does hinder the chances of actually ever chatting or eventually when allowed, meeting anyone!
So ladies, give those in silhouette a chance, you never know!!! |

If someone is messaging and not fully honest about themselves, to the same extent that they have revealed your information, it hints at malice.
I would block and remove personally identifying information from your profile. You've done nothing wrong and I would accept to myself upfront that I'd be prepared to go to the police for assistance, if required.
I certainly wouldn't be messaging them further and definitely wouldn't meet them.
You could perhaps rest partial use of your profile a while, such as by blocking certain types of users from messaging you. Troublemakers often create alternative profiles to try to get around any restrictions, so look out for them. |

"... do I talk to them and potentially do the deed ..."
No, definitely not. Report them, block them and ignore it. If anyone confronts you at work, don't lie - your sex life is nobody's business but yours. Don't rule out going to the police if this person becomes at all harassing. Sounds like a pretty stupid sort of person to be doing this. |
