So I don't do bareback but the last time I had sex I got carried away.
I'm not worried about the risk of babies as I have fertility issues and it would have been totally the wrong time in my cycle. But what about STDs! he definitely sleeps around. I'll get myself tested asap but should I wait a certain amount of days before I do? |

From planned parenthood site
"It depends. It can take 3 months for HIV to show up on a test, but it only takes a matter of days to a few weeks for STDs like gonorrhea, chlamydia, and syphilis to show up."
So that's something to go on at least |

Firstly- don't panic. It serves absolutely no purpose.
Secondly - you can order a home testing kit take one now for peace of mind and order another later to allow for windows.
Thirdly - don't panic. It happens to the best of us. |

"Was it that dastardly married guy? "
No, it was a guy from earlier this year. This guy's not married he's younger and a stoner so not terribly reliable. But so so hot and good in bed. I'd finished things with him earlier this year but he messaged me to apologise for being flaky and that he wanted to see me more regularly before he moved away. |

So window periods for testing are 2 weeks for chlamydia and gonorrhea. Blood born viruses are 4 weeks but if at high risk test again at 3 months just to be sure. The free testing sites won’t allow you to test too often, you would be best contacting your local GU med so that they can give you advise and a schedule of dates for your tests |
