Hi everyone. So anyone who has met me in person know that I can come across a bit shy at 1st but once I get through the initial barrier I seem to get on well with most people I get chatting to.
Now that the focus of getting to know people has moved on to online socials, I am sometimes struggling to find appropriate topics to speak about.
So what are some good conversation topics people generally like to talk about?
I think I might be more of a good listener than speaker, so when the other person is a bit more chatty, I seem to get some clues on what they may like to talk about. However, when the other person is just giving short answers it can get even harder and there are often some awkward silences in between haha. |

Breaking the ice can feel awkward and you’re right to listen for clues. It always pays to be curious about people whilst sharing something personal about yourself...try to find common ground but it still feels awkward move on... and keep searching for the chemistry and the spark |

Your fellow online guest may be the same as yourself so just chat shit and focus on what looks like stuff that interests them.
Most of all don’t over think it and just be you.

Thank you for your reply. I am still on the search. Hopefully find someone or even some people with whom I find the right chemistry and spark. Staying optimistic in these unusual times. |

Sometimes I do over think it, but the added pressure of knowing I am competing with many other men to get a conversation flowing with a couple or a lady does make it tough. However, through many failures I do have the odd successes of getting some attention but keeping them intrigued is where it gets more challenging. But I do feel like I am getting better at it. |

"Ask stupid questions what's their Macdonald order haha stuff like that always makes me laugh "
Worth a try, but maybe once I get chatting a bit. Otherwise, it might backfire badly haha. |

Ok. I will give it a go. So the subject of the message would be 'what's your McDonald's order?' haha. Knowing my luck, I will probably end up messaging someone who really dislikes McDonald's food or it ends up hurting someone's ego (there are some very peculiar people here). |
