iI don't know if this has been covered before, but it concerns the use of the "Meet Today" icon.
Why is it that many of the "Meet Today" entries aren't for that very same day, but instead are being used by people seeking "Meets" days, or even weeks in advance?
Just a tad annoying at times! |

So why don't you just use the search facility to find ones that are for today....
The point is for people to make arrangements with people for particular days, admin must be happy with that as they allow you to select other days. |

i always wonder what it means when you see the icon for meet today, but look and they dont have anything on their profile other than the icon?
I agree about not being bothered, but maybe it be good if it said this person is looking to meet and then it said the day & date if its not actually today, so people wouldnt get confused by status updates |

if you add yourself to the meet today list you dont need to state what your looking for. Our joint profile often has meet today on it and we also have future meets listed on the end of our profile for while we are up north in two weeks time so i dont see how this is "abuse" of the button. |

i don't know if I would so far as to call it "abuse" but I can kinda understand what he is trying to say...
isn't the whole point of the "meet today" button that you actually want a meet...on that particular day!.... as opposed to using it to alert people of your upcoming plans in the next few weeks.....
doesn't that in a way defeat the purpose of the object... isn't that in effect what the diary is there for where people can plan.. and when it comes to the actual day, then put a "meet today" up if you haven't found anything
do I let it frustrate me... nah.. whats the point! Do I think it could be used better.... sure!!!! |

Fabio, thanks for that.
Just a thought? Why not an "Advance Meet" icon? Nah, someone would only get that wrong too!!!! |

Why aren't people allowed to plan their meets for when it suits them?
Maybe she/he/they have a free couple of hours on say, tuesday morning at 10am, putting up the meet a few days earlier gives them the chance to choose who to meet from the replies they recieve!

well put...
not abuse is it? its just using the sites facilities. when you list as a meet today the site gives the option to put what date you want to meet.
no problem if you see the icon to click on profile and see when the meet is required.
maybe 'meet today' isnt a wholly accurate description for the icon considering the site allows you to sellect another day, but wouldnt accuse peopel of abusing it when the facility is there. |

yeah its not abuse but i think it would be benfiicial to people who listed the meet as well as the people who see the meet if it said either Meet Today, or if its in the future said Meet Friday 13th July 2012 for example!
not only would it save people thinking it was today, but would also mean people who the couple/single want to meet would see off the statuses that they looking to meet on that date and may get interested they would of missed if they had to click to find out what it was ! |

if people clearly state in their message/profile when they are looking to meet what actual difference does it make? you click on their meet icon see they arent looking to meet until the saturday so you move on, simples. some people need to plan in advance not everyone has the luxury of being able to meet at a days notice. |

plus you want a little time to sort the wheat from the chaff. |
