No show meets
Jump to: Newest in thread
Whatever the type of meet - currently social only, formerly any type - we don't do ourselves any favours if we don't give feedback on people. We could help to prevent others being stood up, having a wasted trip etc, as they can do for us too. |

Nah, just use your time more productivity instead. Its shitty but nothing you can do about it and although maybe not moral (without warning or explanation) people should feel safe to pull out at any time without obligation. |

Never understood the point of reporting a no show, suck it up and carry on, the site cant actually do much can they?
Different if there's aggression or abuse but not showing up.. Could be a myriad of reasons why. |

They can. They can issue warnings, suspend or remove an account. If they don't know about it they can't act on it. |

I don't see the point in reporting them... They could be late, emergency, flat phone... Got there and chickened out (it takes a lot of courage sometimes)... decided they didn't fancy or even decided you are out of their league
I met a new friend for a coffee and we realised we were in different branches of the same coffee shop chain, just a mile or so down the road |

Surely a 'no show' is someone's right to change their mind about meeting and shouldn't be pressured or feel forced into going through with a meet unless they really wanted too?
I Understand decent thing would be to atleast have the decency to let the person know.

Oh, I forgot my actual answer there.
I think if someone doesn't turn up and doesn't even go to the effort of sending a message with a half baked excuse they should be reported (in non-covid times). That way, if they make a habit of it they could be warned and ultimately banned.
Arranging a meet could be a pretty awkward thing to do in terms of time, distance, childcare, expense etc. and someone taking the piss of that is a bit of a dick |

I understand that, what I mean is if someone doesn't show up, how can admin know there's not a valid reason that's all. They only have the word of person reporting that it was a no show.
I mean it's up to the individual, I'm just saying that personally I don't see the point. |

It is a shame we can't see people who been reported for no show as it deter me off anyone who that past experience of messing people about. |

True it would be useful but it could also be easily abused if you decided you didn't like a profile. Just bombard then with fake reports and effectively black their profile |

Report.
I had a meet arranged sometime last year (around spring/early summer if my memory serves me correctly).
Got myself all clean & fresh inside & out.
Drove to the address. Nobody was in. Waited 15-ish minutes just incase they were running late.
Messaged them, no reply.
Went to message them again to thank them for letting me down & wasting my time, they'd blocked me.
So I reported them, especially as I had to turn other offers down for the meet with them. |

No show meets everyone has the right to back out at last min
No one should be ever assumeing anything poeple are not sex toys, sex worker or ever time wasters
Swinging isnt about using folk
For one thing till you meet some one you dont know where that are at
To report someone for not truning up to a meet you set up is well out of order
Even if you meet up get naked and at last min want to back out a person has a 100% right to do just so
As for meets that report folk for not truning up you should be takeing things as they come on here
As for you getting angry about them not truning up in the breath you have the same right to right to back out at anyone time
So can we have some respect
You got to remember you have newbies who look at forum and status on here
Its giving the wrong idea to them
You cant ever be giving them the impression that cos you taking to some one you have to go with them
That is so wrong if you do
and not on |

We normally have a phone conversation before agreeing to meet. If it’s a couple or girl we always insist on a girl girl phone call. The girls get a pretty good idea if the person is genuine or not. Nothings guaranteed of course but it’s very rare we are disappointed |

It works both ways tho, I had arranged a meet with a couple, drinks and a chat just a social and kind of a see what happens kinda thing, we had been chatting made friends got to know a bit more about each other boundrys and stuff like that but on just as I was about to go meet I got a message saying they wouldn't be available due to family issues, fair play family comes first so I messaged back basically saying no problem and I hope everything is ok, I really wasnt bothered because again family comes first, but it was the reply the day later that kinda annoyed me, they called me unreliable and they didnt think I was genuine and they then blocked me. |

"But should we forgive people who don't explain their absence? Members who back out last minute for any reason but not explain then block/ghost the person to me is bad manners. "
It can be very stressful and I think some people dont see that. I know I was nervous especially if it's your first meet as it was or nearly was with me. You can talk on the phone, chat on webcam but it's nothing like meeting somebody face to face theres that fear of the unknown because you never truly know what to expect until you meet, likewise for the person(s) you are meeting. I think a little understanding would be the best thing to do in my opinion, it's not fair to judge straight away but it happens in all walks of life. |
