Anyone else get orgasm headaches?

Land of the Long White Cloud

Hi,

I don't get them all the times, but after really intense or rapid multiple orgasms I can get this extreme pain which is on both sides of my temples, above my eyes.

Sometimes it can disappear really quickly, but today's is lasting much longer, despite pain relief and hydration.

Anyway, I just wondered if anyone else has them and if there are any ways to prevent or lessen their intensity (other than not orgasming which would really suck)

Yes! I get them... and I kind of like them! they are a reminder of an amazing orgasm(s). But my headaches get better quickly... on a few occassions I’d take some painkillers. Hope it clears up soon! xx

I don't mind them when they disappear quickly, but not this one today.

Am hoping I don't get too many more like this. The orgasms hell yes

Happened to me once or twice; full-blown migraine.

Hydration, rest and migraine meds eventually helped.

I have had this happen a few times in a row, a couple of times in my life. Immediate intense pain when I cum. As other people have said, it normally subsides rapidly. Very peculiar it is. Actually thought I was dying the 1st time it happened it was such a shock and so intense.

We both do after an intense play session..tantic breathing and both doing yoga also intensifies it but if you place tongue against roof of mouth it circulates the energies and it subsides. its a mindblowing reminder of shared energy..if you dont know how to dissipate the energy it results in deep headaches..

I get orgasm headaches too if it's a really intense one. Just need to be left alone for a moment to pass. Isn't it something to do with blood pressure?

I will definitely try the tongue trick. Thanks

I've had this once. Was like getting punched in the back of the head it was so painful.

Depending on which type you have though some are muscle contractions others are blood pressure spikes from orgasm. Well that's what my doc told me anyway.

I get them quite frequently. I do suffer with Migraines anyway but I also have very low blood pressure so that doesn't help either.

If it persists though I'd suggest getting it checked.

Hello. I’ve suffered from these in the past so bad ended up in hospital explaining over and over what I was doing when the headache came on!! They called it a thunderclap headache.

I’ve found the best way to manage it was when I could feel tension building to just ease up a bit, that way I can control it and stop it from being as bad as they can.

Oh I have experienced this a couple of times and it’s horrendous, tends to be after particularly intense orgasm and lots of gushing, they were so bad and always with this one said person, I googled it and found it’s actually a thing! I was depereate to prove it as I think the poor man thought it was something I was making up or that my orgasm wasn’t enjoyable. Bizarre and funny enough, not had one since With anyone else

I get this after squirting a lot also, I believed it’s due to dehydration, find drinking plenty of water before during and after any lengthy sessions tends to prevent x

I(Jason) get nausious quite often after vigorous sessions. Comes in waves and makes me shake. Rhi used to get freeked out by it. She's ok now. She over heats and that makes her feel rough but fans and an Aircon are godsends

Mine are definitely associated with the intensity and gushing.

They can trigger migraines for me. I get meds from my doctor but the best over the counter is simple aspirin. Depending on the pills the amount you take will change so check with a pharmacist.

Not extreme pain as you described but if I have to be quiet when cumming it certainly adds to head pressure, Try releasing naturally see if it changes

I went through a period where it happened every time, it was horrible. Ice packs on my head post orgasm at the onset helped.

Yes I get Coital cephalgia all the time when I play by myself! Or with my doxy wand... it really hurts and comes just before I cum, so I ended up having to stop as hurts too much so havent cum in ages!!! Doesn’t happen with other people but the fear of them has made me learn not

To cum.... also on antidepressants and feel they don’t help me...... ????

It feels like my head is being crushed. Get it mainly when it's a particularly intense orgasm. I have to warn new partners not to draw out or edge my orgasms. It can be quite scary for them for me to suddenly cry out in pain and curl up in a ball and can't bare to be touched. It's made rope play difficult as I need to be released quickly. Although I can sometimes feel the pressure building so calm things down before it hits. Never considered it to coincide with squirting or gushing but that really makes sense now I think of it.

This was discussed a while back on a thread called ' Orgasm headache'...you may find some useful stuff on there.

I suffered something awful from these fuckity foul headaches for a while and really thought I would never have sex again!

My response to that thread at the time is below....

Wow I am delighted to see this thread as I felt so alone with this problem.

I had this last year! Terrified me...never felt pain like it and curled up on side moaning in pain for an hour. It happened at every orgasm. My gp put me on propranalol -

an anti-depressant that is known to work on migraines. It stopped them within 2 days. I decreased the dose over a month and now they have gone altogther.I believe they are known as coital, or 'thunderclap' headaches Thank god they are gone.xx
