"Have a word with your diabetic nurse, he/she should be able to give you better advice than you'll get on here x"
Agreed. I wouldn't want to advise any medication for anyone let alone a diabetic person. |

Following this for my wife who has nightmare hot flushes at times.
Best of luck from a fellow diabetic.

The flushes in this heat have been awful and the dryness and itching have sent me nuts ... so it must of been working |

Try your pharmacist. They should have knowledge about any meds you're taking and any problems taking something for the hotflushes. |

Tip for your husband/partner - read up on what is likely happening to you. It makes you far more aware of things and helps to know when to offer a cuddle and when to hide in another room
(I am joking, I know how tough it is for you all) |

I don’t think this is easy as it might sound and depends on a number of factors;
Are you T1 or T2 diabetic?
Are you insulin dependent?
What level of medication are you on - if any?
No two diabetics are the same, and there are wide ranging issues associated with the Menopause all which individually differ and can affect you in different ways, so clearly there is no simple answer.
On the face of it, there is no clear contra-indication between HRT and insulin, so whilst not an absolute no-no, it would depend on how your body and bl/gl levels respond which if you are insulin dependant I assume you monitor?

Sage tablets I've heard work well. Also I brought a gel pillow insert that I can freeze and sleep on inside my pillow if I want to. I'm sure I'm pre-menopausal.
Acne. Hot flushes. Mood swings.
Mr has also invested in an air conditioning machine and it's WONDERFUL. Put it on upstairs for an hour or so before bed, sucks all the humid and hot air out and blasts cold air back inside.
I LOVE IT. If I could only strap it to my head..... |

You can still book a telephone consultation, we would follow up with a face to face if necessary, my practice nurses have been fully booked every day for the last 2 months, we just have to triage to keep everyone safe. |

I tried many herbal meds but none worked and just wasted my money. Tried various different prescribed drugs, none worked. Prescribed HRT ... heaven ... stopped all symptons with just an occasional hot flush |

I visited Holland & Barret about 12 months ago and after a quick few questions in relation to my health, they suggested MENOFORCE (a sage based tablet more suited to anyone with heart or cancer related illnesses in their family)
Sceptical I tried them and within 3 days my night hot sweats had stopped
Obviously everyone is different but they were a game changer for me
Pop into one of their local shops to see what they say and good luck x |

"theres a magnet you can pop in your underwear, available in Boots
Not tried it personally but might be worth some research"
My wife just bought one of these after weeks of hot flushes and not being able to sleep. Initial results are looking good (she's sleeping again), but obviously it's early days. I'll be interested to see whether the device's claim to stop mood swings is true or not... |

I'm on HRT and I haven't looked back since. It's really suiting me. I believe sage is excellent for hot flushes, I'd make a tea out of it. I've yet to try it but I'm gonna get dried sage and infuse it with hot water for 15 mins. Sage also has other excellent health benefits. There's also vitamins you can buy especially to target menopause symptoms Re- Vitabiotics Menopace. I believe a Magnesium supplement is also very beneficial. Best of Luck. |

My wife suffered a long and horrible menopause. We tried all sorts, frankly without much success.
One thing that definitely did reduce some of the symptoms, was to cut out caffeine.
Worth a try before adding stuff to the mix. |
