COLCHESTER

We are going away for a weekend and wondered how easy it is to arrange meets in hotels.

Worried that we would get stopped or someone would knock on the door saying no guests.

Holiday inns? Travel lodge??

Any recommendations in north london? Or any advice about hotels would be great x

Post covid we had no issues using travellodge. We or they would sign in and get a room. We would then join them in the bar and just follow them into the hotel when we where all ready to play.

Do check hotel's policy on visitors. We had quite a surprise at one of the Ibis chain hotels. We met a couple at an organised social, we got on really well with them and they invited us to their hotel. Devil went upstairs with the guy from the couple while Beast and the lady went to get some food. When they tried to get into the hotel, the staff on reception wouldn't let them in as she didn't have her room key card (they only had one key card between themselves, which is quite standard procedure). Devil and the guy had to come back downstairs but even then staff wouldn't allow us to the couple's hotel room as it was after 11pm and the hotel's policy was that no visitors were allowed in the hotel rooms after 11pm.

Not sure about any other chains having similar policy but it is possible so do check before committing to any.

Theres plenty of hotels. Travelodge is normally ok just depends if they are located in an area where there are bars.

Brittaina Hotels are open venue bars, so meet your guests in the reception or bar and there you go. The general hotels are very, very basic, opt for a Premier room or a 4 poster suite, good for throwing over a restraint, shushhhhhh, don't tell everyone.

Campanile Motels have rooms in separate block from reception. So visitors can go straight to room.

We stayed at the Travelodge in Wateringbury. Got the guests in no problem. Almost got thrown out for the noise though

Never had a problem, except for parking, some hotels do have a rather high charge for non residents...
