I received my first wink yesterday from a couple who state on their profile that they don't normally meet men. I have no idea why they decided to contact me in this way but I was chuffed to bits. I'd love to get more winks (have I spelt that correctly?). |

I'd normally take that as an invite to message them. |

"Some people seem to hate them, delete on sight, whats peoples thoughts?, I thought they were just a way to touch base and show interest in someone?, views please good people?!"
I like the idea just don't like the thought I don't get any lol
They are I believe a way of saying I would like to chat ut don't want to write a lot only to be ignored or thought of as lazy
Would enjoy being winked more often

We receive anything from 30 to 50 messages every day plus winks plus friends offers. Im still not sure of the wink system. When I receive a wink from someone 200 miles away I find it rude not to respond with a wink and yet I dont wish to receive a message from them as nothing is going to happen between us due to distance or other circumstances. If I dont wink back, is this being rude? |

In the real world we never respond if someone shouts "oi you!" or whistles at either of us like a dog.
In the cyberworld we treat winks the same way but always respond politely if someone sends short message |

we see it an ice breaker, if we get one and they look ok we wink back if not then we dont wink back, if we get one from those without pictures on profile we deleat instantly because we cant see who were winking at, friends invites without a chat first instant deleat |

"We like them, if we wink back then we see it as an ok for a message thats how I see it, a wink also is a bit more polite than say, 'hi fancy a fuck?'!, do people really open with that?!!!
"
Yes, and variations of. A 59 year old sent "8" white cock cum n get it".
I found it rather sad that an old man still hadn't learnt how to send a respectable message.
As for winks, I block delete as I think they're VERY lazy. My profile is specific in the type of playmate I'm looking for, and it will be a very small pool. Therefore is expect anyone contacting me to make himself known in a message.
If I had a generic or "ordinary" profile then I would view it as an icebreaker. One site I'm on sends an automatic personalised message to anyone sending me a wink, it says thanks for the wink but I never look at them but I read all messages. |

As a follow up, they eventually read my message and deleted it without reply. Oh well! Back to being patient! |

"I like winks, it's an easy way for people to show an interest, of whatever type, in someone else. Mutual winks can lead to messaging, which will get read always, with me, and replied to."
Mutual winking lol must be the shy version of mutual masturbation |

"Just a nice way to show some one you like them, without being over intrusive surely ! "
Rarely make the first approach but if I do it would probably be a wink.
I think they are a nice subtle way of saying hi x |

Winks are harmless. We smile or wink at people across crowded rooms if we're out or if we're at a social gathering or networking event. If we get similar gesture back, we go and introduce ourselves.
Don't see the difference and don't see why people get so annoyed by them. The buffer that is the internet seems to have created pet peeves which would seem more uptight in a public setting. |
