Not sure how well known this is so forgive me if it's been posted previously. I use my phone a lot to access Fab and like loads of people have a Facebook app. One of the features in the Facebook app is "find friends on your phone" . This searches Facebook profiles to match any numbers you may have in your contacts. Long and short of it is, if you give your mobile number out and if you've put your mobile number in your Facebook account this feature will identify you.
I guess many on fab use fake names, at least until they get to know someone so you should be aware that giving out your mobile number could potentially be giving away a lot more information |
