I have an OCD of always keeping my inbox clear of messages. Regardless whether I want to stay in touch with someone or not, I always delete my whole inbox and save the messages I later want to reply to, or I keep them on my friends list or hot list. But I noticed how many people get offended by my behaviour. Is it really rude to delete messages?

Deleting to me shows you are not interested.

I tend to think the people that don’t are picture hunters.

As I said I delete everyone, including people I am interested in

I am the same. I like a clear inbox, so I delete messages I am not interested in, then reply to and delete those that do interest me!

I don't see the point in keeping a bunch of messages sitting in my inbox.

It's your inbox, so it's your choice how to run it!

We wouldn't be offended. Disappointed maybe but not offended.

Is this a genuine question?

I worry if I delete messages from someone I like they will think I've lost interest.

What I do is delete all but the most recent one.

I do the same.

How others interpret how you choose to manage your account is their problem.

Do you get blocked alot purely on the fact you do this?

I do the same. However it can sometimes cause problems. I was chatting to a couple. We exchanged a few messages. I had about 10 different replies in my inbox so I deleted 9 of them. The couple accused me of not being interested in them and timewaster, then blocked me for deleting some of their replies.

"I guess I'm just not sexy enough "

I think people assume that when people delete their messages. But what I'm trying to explain with this thread, it's not always a negative reason why people delete messages
