Have a look at the thread we did
"How was your first club night?"
It is nerve wracking for the first time, but we're all adults. Once you're in the nerves go a bit. We found it a surreal experience, but love clubs now. A lot of couples just play with each other on their first visit. Just take little steps at a time. Enjoy |

It's going to be a while before clubs open again.
My first club was not what I expected. Was really welcoming, friendly and great fun.
My advice would be too relax, and enjoy the social side, the rest will follow. |

Be yourself
First time is nerve wrecking for everyone. When you arrive for your first visit tell the staff they can give you a tour . (also have to check if club you are wanting to visit requires membership)
Only other thing i can suggest is just have fun, speak to people, you don't have to shag.
Hope you have fun once clubs reopen and you have a chance to attend |

Pick the right night, look for a party night that sounds fun to you.
Add yourself to the guest list (if they have one)
If on guest list, message others and let them know you’re new (this takes some courage, but you also may be surprised how nice and welcoming those people can be)
It’ll surprise you how close it is to being like a vanilla pub or club, first room is always a social space (well all the ones I’ve visited have)
Don’t feel you have to do anything with anyone.
Stay at the bar if you want or explore, do what you feel comfortable with.
No is always no and should be respected, if not see the club owner, bar staff...they will take action.
We all have great, nice and terrible nights out ...don’t judge one night as every night, if one club doesn’t suit you another may.
Enjoy |

dont sit in the corner and wait for people to come to you. get stuck in group conversations. get closer with the regulars or fellow new people and then playing and finding partners will come easier. thats from my own experience |

Don't go with expectation of getting jiggy with others. Treat it like a social, make friends, we've met some amazing people. We only played with each other for our first few visits, then got invited to join a couple one night and participated in soft swing only. Took us about a year to get comfortable with full swap and now thats what we prefer. |
