Id say cross dresser, a tv you want to dress most of time but not be female full time, trans you feel your in wrong gender and want to be female and take steps to achieve that through medication and surgery. I had an ex who was trans and definitely more than just a crossdresser. Some that do start as Cds when young find out they are trans later on but most who are transgender know this from an early age.

If you just dress up in women's clothing and enjoy and enjoy the feel or you feel sexy then your a Crossdresser, if you go a step further and shave all your body hair off, dress up and Wear makeup then you come under Transvestite and if you take any form of body changing hormones to enhance your body parts to become female or go through any operation than your a Transsexual that a very brief way to break it down
