I had set my kettle to boil & laid out my food while scanning channels on my portable tv. I never close the cab curtains until I’m ready to climb into my bunk as I love to watch the light fade out from evening to night. The kettle boiled & I had found a channel that I could relax & watch then settled down to eat. Nothing much was happening outside as the light faded. The others trucks had now switched off their cab lights & I’d guessed that they had an earlier start than me & had turned in for the night.
Having finished my meal & tided up & set out my duvet for later I continued to watch the tv when the sound of another vehicle approaching had me check my offside mirror. It wasn’t another truck as the sound was certainly lighter then I saw the camper van pull up a couple of metres to my right & park. His lights switched off & although it wasn’t unusual to see a lighter vehicle in the truck park this was quite late & getting dark. |
