So my work is largely male dominant, with 800 or so people.. I think maybe 10 females.
And may I add all are in finance and not very people friendly in any sense of the word.
So after a decent break over Christmas and new year feeling the January blues, work commenced earlier this week.
Upon arrival at the gates, there was a car blocking anyone’s way. Clearly someone had forgotten their pass and couldn’t scan to open the gate.. within a few minutes a disgruntled cue had formed of men leaning on their horns!
Not ideal at 7am anyway, I was proactive and jumped out of my car jogged past 5 or 6 cars and just flashed my pass at the scanner.. and as I did the barrier opened and the car crept in.. as I turned to jog away I caught a glimpse of woman’s features, not enough to make out anything clear so much so I questioned it myself..
Anyway the morning being and after the obligatory chats and brews were out the way
We had our welcome back briefing, and we were introduced to our new receptionist, I didn’t really pay much attention, until colleague mentioned
“I’d give her one” I smirked you’d give anything one..
But as I looked up.. 
Tall, leggy, dark haired woman stood up tall, white tight shirt tucked into a very high waisted pencil skirt, black framed glasses and a real secretary look.
The briefing continued and I acted entertained but every few seconds looked across and she was their eye fixed toward my path. I just smiled and gazed into thin air thinking behave... 
The meeting drew to a close and questions were invited, old of the older farts who hates change moaned about a new system that I’ve personally had a great deal of input on.. and he had a rant, without any counter statements made.
So I thought sod it, I stood up and said reeled off statistics and explained it will save us this much and it’s benefits to the lads on shopfloor.
He seemed won over and a mini victory was mine!
She gave me a very discreet nod and a grin appeared.
Once we all departed she came over and said
“Thanks for the morning, I didn’t know what I was doing”
And a few lads gave the typical weyyyyy! Suggesting their own crude thoughts.
She took it on the chin bold as brass and laughed, and came back with
“He helped me get through that stupid gate unlike you selfish twats, he’s my special little helper”
Joining in... I thought I’ll add my 10 pence..
“Ey, less of the little thank you” 
Without a seconds hesitation she as she walked away out the door
“True you are a big boy are you”
Everyone in the room sat gobsmacked..  including me, not many women would work into a room full of men on their first day and stand her ground so well, but actually give it back aswell was too he applauded..
But now we’ve began it only seems to escalate and she does not back down... at all!  :-
