Not accordingly to them, they want to see/know what the driver was doing when the camera/incident takes place
During rest periods it should not be active and you should be able to unplug it "
Defiantly not able to unplug as any tampering with device is misconduct.
Plus the device is unable to tell if the tachometer is on a rest/other work etc |

Covering lens is misconduct according to them, and camera is active regardless of ignition status.
Say the vehicle is crashed into overnight, they still want to see all the footage inside/out.
