Hi all, thank you for all you nice comments and messages. sorry for the delay on further chapters. If missed part 1 then see original thread.
Chapter 8.
Friday came and I was working from home in the office. Dan turned up with a work mate for the installation. They unloaded their kit out the back garden. I offered them a coffee and they started work outside. Installing cctv cameras, lighting and alarm. It seemed over the top but this tech was good. Moving, zoomable cameras covering all areas out front and back. Mid day come and they stopped for a quick lunch before then starting on the inside. Alot of the kit was wireless connection so was easy for them to install. They went from room to room installing these heat and movement sensors, of which also included cctv cameras built in them. Every room, including bedrooms. I was in my office working while Dan was doing my master bedroom and his work mate the guest room. Dan then came in with some kit to say they were nearly finished and he needed to install the master system in the office and then he would need to run through it all with me. I had just finished up my work so left him to it and went to inspect the installation. I went into the guest room and noted the sensor in the corner of the ceiling. I went into my master bedroom and noted one in there as well. I turned to go back to the hallway when I noticed my red room door was ajar again. Dan must of looked in here as part of the installation? Or had Lucy mentioned it to him. Anyway he would of had a surprise seeing all the toys in there.
I carried on checking the work around the house and Dan called me back up to my office.
He had connected everything up and it was all showing on a separate screen. He explained I could access looking at the cctv via phone, tablet or tv screen as well. It could send me messages if certain sensors were set off etc. It all looked incredible and everything could be seen around the house in great high quality. He gave me a couple of extra mobile cameras that I could use anywhere if needed. All was great. I offered them both a beer to say thanks. Dans work mate said he had to go as had prior arrangements so took his beer with him. Dan stayed for a beer and we chatted while I had fun playing with the new phone app looking at the rooms etc via the camera's. The beers flowed and we talking about women and nextdoor. He explained he been asked to help with entertainment at my neighbours on the weekend. But He didn't want to leave Lucy at home alone as she wasn't invited. I offered she could come here if she wanted, the company would be good. Dan said thanks and he would run it past her. He then said he had an idea and needed to update something on the system up stairs. I said sure. Five minutes later he was back. He said now check how many cameras I had. I looked on my app and I noticed the amount of cameras had doubled, but wait these extras were not my rooms......whose were they? Dan just winked and said you may have fun watching them next door. But said I must keep quiet as he could loose his job if anyone found out. On that note he said he had enough beers and should go home to Lucy. I called him a taxi, thanked him for his work and said see them both on the weekend. |
