It was mid august and the day was the hottest of the year, barbecue smoke filled the garden along with the shouts and laughter you'd expect at this boozy affair. I'd just been promoted to the board of directors in the firm I'd been with since leaving uni and then barbecue was a celebration of my new found status. We loved being surrounded by friends and family and found any excuse to have them to the house, but there were two missing from the group. My wife and brother were fucking in the shed ! |
