I went to Camden market, trying to find a sex shop that a friend did recommend me. I was completely lost and looking for almost an hour until I decided to ask someone to help me find it. I started looking for the most normal guy in the place (every body looked dodgy and a bit dangerous there), and finally decided to approach an English man who was well groomed and dressed on a suit, that looked like he was waiting for someone, perhaps a girl.
Of course I asked with an almost inaudible voice: "excuse me, do you know the market? Do you, by any chance, know where can I find a sex shop nearby?".
He wanted to confirm what I said, and asked: what are you looking for?. I had to say it again: a sex shop.
At this point, I could feel my face blushing and all red hot, almost regretting having asked. He smiled and took his time only to say: "oh sorry, I don't think I can help you".
I thanked and almost ran away from him as the embarrassment could barely let me breathe.
It was less than two minutes after when I felt a hand touching my shoulder, it was him again with a big smile and said: "I think that I know where the shop you are looking for is, but it's a bit complicated to explain... I have 5 minutes spare, do you want me to walk you there?".
The decision was either to waste all my afternoon and go back home after finding nothing, or let this stranger walk me God knows where.
After 5 seconds of him not getting an answer from me, he asked: "Can I ask where are you from?" I said: "Venezuela", making him switch to Spanish immediately: "Yo viví en Suramerica", which means "I used to live in South America" in Spanish.
That was enough for me and we started to walk along as we were speaking in Spanish, him telling things like which countries he has lived in and for how long, and, before I noticed we where in front of a huge futuristic shop. He offered to take me downstairs as the sex shop was in the basement, three levels down. He also helped me to explain to the attendant, a young girl, the sort of things I was looking for and gave me his opinions and advice. At the end I couldn't find anything that matched my requirements and we left.
Not long after we were at the same place I originally found him but he said he actually needed to go back to the underground. We kept walking together, speaking Spanish, and every now and again he would comment about the sex toys we saw, knowing that it was going to make me feel embarrassed again, and just laughed at me every time.
I headed back to the Tube and what a coincidence, he happened to need to take the same train, it was crowded, and was then when he asked if he could have my phone number, but it was answered only by my smile and my silence. We kept talking and a couple of minutes after he asked for my number again and this time his smile was bigger than mine. We were approaching my station as he said "please?". I noticed my self smiling, quietly thinking, looking upwards into his eyes.
Suddenly, the train doors opened and there was not enough time to exchange numbers, only two more seconds until I decided to kiss his lips sweetly and ran away from him again as the doors closed, whilst his desperate hands tried to reach and touch my body through the glass. |
