I first met Dixie when I was around eighteen. He owned a narrow boat which was mostly used as a floating hotel in a very picturesque marina. He was a lot older than me, late forties at least if not fifty. I was a babysitter for some friends and they used to go there quite a bit and take me along. They would all go to the local pub and I would stay with their child. They invariably came back slightly the worse for wear but were always entertaining. The conversation inevitably turned to sex and lots of banter and innuendo ensued. I didn’t contribute much but listened to their banter. One night the couple went straight to bed leaving just Dixie and I alone. The conversation became far more personal about my past boyfriends and what I got up to. He recounted stories from his past that were really quite interesting and eye opening. He poured me a drink and said he was going to get changed. He returned in a dressing gown and sat next to me. |
