Sorry for the dalay in continuing the scenario!
To recap where I'd got to before the thread closed:
Crouching back down, he got me organised so I was semi reclined, my back on the cushions and legs out in front of me.
He layed my left hand over my stomach and the reached down under both of my knees and gently lifted, so my legs were bent. He then told me to put the soles of my feet together and let my bent legs fall open.
