Like many people I left school with very few real skills. I could recite world history and write an essay on Shakespeare's Hamlet but nothing of value for the workplace. Luckily I had learned to touch-type in my lunchbreaks and had a fairly decent "words per minute" speed. With this in mind, my careers advisor suggested that a career in secretarial work would be suitable and he arranged an interview with a local builders merchants who needed a general office assistant.
As far as I could tell, the interview was a formality. My careers advisor had obviously put in a good word for me and in fact he was kind enough to drive me to the industrial estate on the outskirts of town one day after school for my interview.
The guy who interviewed me was called Jack and he was one of three partners who owned the small company.
He told me that they needed someone to staff the desk, answer the phone, type invoices and other simple admin tasks. The money wasn't great but it seemed like a fortune for me at the time. It was also easy to get to - just one 30 bus ride away and as I didn't have any other concrete plans it seemed like a good career decision.
So the day after my 19th birthday I started work at JMS Builders Merchants. It was a job that shaped me in many ways.
For my first day I was unsure what to wear. Because the interview had been after work I had been wearing my school uniform. Blue skirt, white shirt, school tie and v neck sweater - so I didn't know what they expected for actual work. The pre-fab office was on an industrial estate and quite muddy. But it was an office job and I had always imagined working in an office wearing skirts, heels and stockings. I didn't know what was most sensible so I opted for the safe choice of smart trousers and flat shoes with a blouse and jumper in case it was cold in the office.
My first day was easy. Jack greeted me and showed me round the small office. The other partners didn't come in often he explained. I spent much of the day finding my way round and saying hello to regular customers. It was fun.
At 5.30 I knocked on the door to Jack's office and asked if it was OK for me to go home.
"Yes of course" He said. "Just one thing though. Our customers expect a level of smartness from our staff. I wonder if tomorrow you could wear more office appropriate work attire. Flat shoes and a thick jumper aren't really what they want to see."
"I'm so sorry Jack" I said. I didn't know what to wear. I'll wear something more suitable tomorrow I promise."
"Good girl." He replied and I headed off to catch the bus happy that we had cleared up that issue early on.
That evening I spent hours trying on my different work clothes combinations. I knew I had to wear heels and that meant a skirt and stockings. I had recently bought a petrol blue pencil skirt that fitted tightly around my ass and showed off my small waist. But what to wear on top? My blouses reminded me too much of school. In the end I found a long forgotten stretchy white top with black dots that clung to my shape nicely. With a cute cardigan it looked business-like and informal at the same time. I was convinced that I had found the perfect outfit. Warm, comfortable and whilst not overtly sexy it was definitely not the frumpy outfit of the day before. |

As I boarded the bus the next morning I was feeling a little self conscious. Most of the other commuters were dressed less formally than me. But the driver was certainly pleased to see me and he waved me off with a big grin.
As I walked the few hundred yards from the bus stop and through the industrial estate to the portakabin a number of heads turned. The guys arriving at their various workplaces seemed to approve of my black high heels.
So I was in good spirits as I entered the office and hung up my coat.
I flicked on the kettle and popped my head into Jack's office to offer him a hot drink.
"Glad you're here Dee" He said when he saw me. I wanted to introduce you to Steve one of the other partners."
Steve looked up from his paperwork and smiled. He was older than Jack, maybe in his 50s whilst Jack was probably in his 40s.
"Hi." I said and offered him a drink as well.
He accepted and I quickly retreated to the kettle before I forgot their drink preferences. As I walked away I heard Steve say "yep, she'll do... the guys will love that arse."
I blushed at the thought but was secretly pleased that he had noticed my figure-hugging new skirt.
My second day was busier than the first with many more customers coming in. Many of them had enquiries I could help with but others didn't seem to have a proper reason to be there. I realise now that Jack or Steve had told them to come and have a look at the new girl. At the time I was perplexed. But they all left with smiles on their faces so I guess I passed the test.
Many weeks passed and I got more and more confident in the role. I was introduced to Mark the final partner - another guy in his 50s, and I started to get to know the regular customers.
I also spent a fair amount of time chatting with the 4 young guys who worked at the company who were employed delivering building materials to big clients as well as receiving the deliveries from suppliers.
All four of the guys had girlfriends but it didn't stop them from flirting with me as often as they could. I enjoyed going into work every day to see if I could tease them with a flash of stocking top and a bit of innuendo. We all knew it was a bit of a game to be as naughty as possible without crossing line.
If ever I needed something from a low shelf I would slowly bend over making sure they were watching. Or I would suck on a pen suggestively when they were in the office. They would offer to help me to adjust my underwear... innocent things like that. We all knew that it wouldn't go anywhere but it was great fun!

I loved working at JMS. It wasn't as fancy a job as some of my friends had but it was a great laugh. The lads were fun. The regular customers were all super nice to me, and Jack, Mark and Steve were fairly decent bosses. I saw Jack most days and the others in popped a few times each week, often on a Friday lunchtime when they sometimes brought in cakes or other treats for everyone.
One day all 3 of the bosses were in. I could hear them in the office at the back. Obviously there was some big emergency as I could hear raised voices. I heard bits and pieces and worked out that a valuable order for our biggest customer hadn't come in but no one had informed Geoff the customer. He was livid and had threatened legal action.
"I'll fast track the order", Jack said as the 3 bosses left the office, "but we'll have to go on the charm offensive and try to placate Geoff. We can't afford legal action."
They called the whole company into the main office and told us the detail of what had happened. Nobody got a bollocking as it was probably Jack's fault but we were all told to be super nice to Geoff and his team.
Before he left for the day Steve called me into Jack's office.
"Dee, we've all seen you flirting with the lads over the last few weeks." He said. "If you felt able to direct some of that flirtiness towards Geoff and his guys for the next few days I'm sure that would make him less inclined to sue us."
Steve was clearly stressed and he seemed anxious about what he was asking. Jack gave me a big smile.
"Just be yourself Dee!" He said with a wink.
"Of course." I said. "This job is important to me. I'll do whatever it takes to keep it." And with that I reached down and undid two buttons on my blouse so that the top of my bra and breasts were on show.
I looked up at Jack and Steve, smiling.
"Good girl Dee." Steve said and walked out of the office, patting my arse as he passed me. |

I got onto the bus to go home and found a seat near the front. All I could think of was how I could help the company by flirting with the customers. I was always nice to them anyway but maybe if I flashed a bit more of my breasts and stocking tops it would be good for business.
As I got off the bus and waved to the smiling driver I realised that my bra was still on show, no wonder all the men getting onto the bus had grinned at me.
As soon as I got home I sorted through my clothes to find something which would "keep Geoff happy".
I also wanted to keep Steve happy. The memory of his hand on my arse kept me warm all night. So when I walked across the industrial estate the next morning and saw his car I was a little anxious. I wanted to please him with my outfit and to show my willingness to do whatever he asked for the benefit of the company.
As the office door slammed shut Steve popped his head out of the partners' office in time to see me hanging up my coat.
"Oh, very nice Dee." He almost groaned. "That will please the customers."
Jack appeared and gave me an appreciative thumbs up before disappearing back to his desk. |

Have you ever written and posted a story? It takes time and effort. These are not authors but ordinary people who have lives to live and jobs to do. It may be frustrating for the reader BUT you end up with a better story.. if you want complete stories you can still buy top shelf magazines but you have to pay for them. Give the writers on here time and space in their own time . Don't complain simply because you have to find something else to finish your wank.
